Chapter 15
I needed to have some ‘me‘ time first and then I would see if I wanted to get involved with another mate..
Would it be like my relationship with Jacob? Or could I find an Alpha mate that would treat me right?
I hoped so and I would keep hoping.
Dinner was soon over and we returned home.
As soon as I entered my room, my phone started ringing.
I pulled it out of my purse and glanced at the screen. A smile touched my lips as I saw who was calling me. It was my best friend from the Red wolves pack, Ciara.
I answered the call and she sounded like she was smiling as she said,
“Girl, I miss you so much!”
My smile turned into a grin and I replied, “I miss you so much too, C!”
“You have no idea how it’s been without you! It’s been torture!” She exclaimed dramatically.
“Oh, stop being such a drama Queen, C.” I commented as I laughed. She laughed too and she said in a serious voice, “But on a serious note, why didn’t you tell me that you were leaving? I had to hear it from Alpha Jacob, that arrogant piece of-”
She cut herself off and drew in a deep breath before letting it out.
“I’m so sorry! I was so caught up in my thoughts and I didn’t even think of telling anyone. But you know that I texted you after I arrived home to which you replied, ‘okay‘” I defended myself as I felt a bit guilty.
She sighed, “Yeah, I saw your text and I replied, but if you had noticed it was just ‘okay‘ and I only text that if I’m upset.”
“Oh, don’t be upset anymore.” I muttered.

Her tone of voice sounded brighter as she replied, “I’m not upset. anymore, obviously. Anyway, when Alpha Jacob announced that we no longer have a Luna and that you rejected him, everyone was
crushed.”
“Really? Everyone?” I asked as my brows raised in surprise.
“Yeah, everyone. Even the elders, and I’m saying that because they kept asking Alpha Jacob so many questions, but he said that he’s not feeling well, so he can’t talk with them at that moment.
They were not happy with the news and I heard rumours about how they wanted him to choose a new Luna ASAP.” She told me the gist and I drank it all in.
“Whoa! Already?” I asked, feeling surprised again.
She didn’t waste anytime telling me more, “Yeah, and Lisa kept following him around the pack house. She even started a rumour about how Alpha Jacob was going to choose her as his new Luna mate!”
I scoffed, “He should choose her since he’s all about her anyway.” She groaned, “Oh God, no! She would make a terrible Luna and she’s not even a Luna wolf! Then there’s how much of a b*tch she is. She doesn’t care about anyone except herself!”
I couldn’t help, but chuckle, “Well, that will be bad for you guys. As for me, I’ve escaped and I’m here, enjoying the life.”
“Huh, I’m so jealous!” She exclaimed as she also chuckled.
“Why don’t you transfer to this pack and to Standard West College too?” I suggested, already feeling excited at the thought.
She sighed as she replied, “I would love to, but you know that my mate’s in this pack and so is my family, so I can’t transfer to your pack or College, but I can come visit on the weekends.”
“I would love that!” I exclaimed as I started smiling again.
Talking with my best friend just always made me so happy.
“So how’s it been going over there? Have you met any potential Alpha

mates yet?” She asked me in a teasing voice.
I giggled as I answered her, “No, nol yet. I just got out of a relationship, so I don’t think I’m ready to get into a another relationship just yet.”
She replied, “Alright, girl. Good luck with your mating life.”
“Thanks, good luck too.” I said and added, “Well, I need to rest since I had a long night.”
“Alright, rest well and good–night.” She replied with another laugh. I laughed too and said, “Night.”
One week later, I was getting ready for school when I heard a knock on my bedroom door.
I opened it to see Alpha Cameron leaning against the railing that was opposite my door. His lips lifted up into a smile when he saw me and I couldn’t help, but smile back.
“Hey.” He murmured as he straightened up and stepped towards
- me.
“Hi, Alpha!” I greeted as I bowed my head slightly.
He chuckled and said, “There’s no need for formalities, Farrah. Just call me Cameron please.”
“Okay, Cameron.” I replied and added, “What brings you here?”
“Well, my cousin, Turner told me how you wanted to help him, so I wanted to thank you for your efforts.” He said as a nervous look appeared on his face.
I was shocked as I replied, “Oh! I had no idea that Turner’s your cousin, and no need to thank me, I’m just doing what’s right.”
“You have a good heart, Farrah.” He murmured as his gaze captured mine again.
I felt my heart race and my cheeks flush. I averted my gaze and cleared my throat as I replied, “Thanks, Cameron.”
My phone beeped at that moment, indicating a text coming through,

so I glanced at Alpha Cameron as I held my phone up, “Sorry, I need to check this.”
“Sure, I’ll see you around.” He replied, still smiling and then walked
away.
I closed the door and checked the text to see that it was from Beta Kyle. It read, [Call me right now.]
Another text came through and I checked it. It read, [I’ve been trying to call you, but I can’t reach you. Alpha Jacob is in danger and you’re the only one that can help!]
I wanted to ignore the text, but then another came through and it read, [I’m not joking, Farrah. This is a life and death situation. Call me right now or reply to this message.]
