“Who are you? Why did you just pull in inside?” I asked in confusion as my gaze met a pair of big brown eyes looking deeply at me. I could sense the desperation in them. I could also see him struggling within himself as his muscles were all pumped up, making him look even more muscular.
“Are you dumb?” He snapped at me, “Don’t you get it? Darn, it’s getting out of control now.”
“I’m sorry? You pulled me inside without my consent and were daring enough to call me dumb? The person looking dumb right now is only you. But,” I was offended by his words to me yet I couldn’t ignore the weird attraction I was feeling towards his
scent.
“Why is your scent so attractive? I haven’t smelled such scent from any werewolf before.” I couldn’t help muttering. He bit

his lips, struggling to say, “That’s why I called you dumb. Can’t you see we are mates and attracted towards each other?”

Only now did I realize how it felt to be with your mate. I could feel his wolf‘ s discomfort. He was struggling and was at unrest. I could feel the honesty in his words when he was apologizing to me. So, it was true. Mates can never cheat each other because their partners can easily detect the lies. I felt pity on Noah, seeing how guilty he was while doing abrupt things to me. I then came up with an idea. I immediately bit his lips to mark him mine. Once a wolf is marked by their mates, their mates can comfort them. The idea worked. I hugged him tightly while trying to comfort him with my words, telling him how strong he was and could easily fight the poison. His desperation was slowly reducing. Just then we heard a knock on
the door.

Ethan. After getting no response from inside, he added, “Noah, are you alright? I heard your brother got you poisoned? Damn you, I had called you to meet my
sister and you ended up being poisoned again. Can’t you be a bit careful of your family?”
Noah had just come to himself and was buttoning his shirt that he had unbuttoned a few minutes ago. Meanwhile, my brother continued, “You are getting me worried. I’m breaking the door now.”
“No, wait Ethan,” Noah shouted, but it was too late. Ethan had already barged inside. His jaw dropped in shock seeing me inside Ethan’s room. His eyes widened in anger as he saw Noah buttoning his shirt and me laying on bed, my clothes wrinkled. He rushed up to Noah and grabbed his collar, yelling angrily, “What did you do to my sister?”
