Chapter 25
It turned out that was his reasoning
Zachary was a little surprised. In the business world, Zachary was known for being
ing decisive and ruthless, never letting personal feelings interfere. Yet Marvin seemed to prioritize emotions
“Mr. Gibson, you handle things differently from me. If we were to collaborate, I think it would be an entirely new experience. As for my wide and me, we’re very happy together.” As Zachary spoke, he teached out and gently pulled Cynthia closer to him
The scent of him, clean and refreshing like sunshine after rain in a forest, filled her senses. His hand, warm against her waist, sent a flutter through her chest. Her heart raced as she felt
They had agreed to put on a show, but no one had mentioned anything about hugging! To make matters worse, she couldn’t push him away,
Saving their intimate actions, Marvin smiled. “It’s truly a privilege to see the usually aloof Mr. Beaver deeply in love with his wide. If you don’t mind, why don’t you accompany me in tasting, some wine 1 brewed? I’d love to hear your thoughts.”
His words implied an invitation to continue the conversation.
Zachary, who was quite knowledgeable about wine, responded with elegant ease, “t course, I’d be happy to
He walked with Cynthia toward the winery, his hand still on his waist. His every step exaded a gentlemanly charm as he conversednaturally.
However, Cynthia couldn’t relax. She could feel the warmth of his hand through the fabric of his dress, almost as if an electric current was flowing through her.
Aside from that one night years ago, she had never born this close to a man. And this man, of all people, was Zachary!
She felt more and more uncomfortable and tried to move awry.
Zachary noticed her use and lowered his gaze. He saw her delicate face flushed with embarrassment and whispered, “We’re just acting. Why are you blushing?–
voice was soft, only loud enough for them to hear. They were so close that she could feed his worm breath brushing against her ear. It made her even more self–conscious.
just not used to this. Not everyone is like you. You probably think that after hugging so many women, it’s all the same,” Cynthia stammered
quickly pulled away from him and walked ahead.
Zachary’s eyes narrowed. Her words made it sound as though he was promiscuous while she was chaste. Was she sure it wasn’t the other way around
Given that they were at a winery, it was expected that there would be wine at dinner.
Cynthia had never drunk akohol before, but since Marvin was insistent, she had to drink some. After one plass, she was already tipsy,
Seeing her slung on the table, her face flushed a bright red, Zachary’s bugs furrowed Washer alcohol tolerance that low?
Reluctantly, he decided to pause his business conversation with Marvin for the evening and carried her out
Outside, Jesse was stunned when he saw Zachary carrying Cynthia. His eyes neatly popped out of their sockets.
The dignified Zachary was nutrious for avoiding physical contact with most women–especially someone like Cynthia, who had such a bad reputation and seemed to have no self–respect. He rushed over, saying “Mr. Beaver, let me carry her.”
“it’s line,” Zachary replied indifferently, placing Cynthia the car before getting himself. “Take us back to the villa”
Jesse was left speechless.
Was this really the same Zachary, the cold and aloof man who never let anyone get close? Why did it seem like he was treating Cynthia differently?
Jesse did not dare to ask further and respectfully drove them back
The road down the mountain was rough, with stone paths that made the car shake with every bump
Zachary, accustomed to traveling to various places, including buntpy mountain roads, was used to the discomfort.
But Cynthia, still drunk, had no way to brace herself. As the car jolted again, she lost her balance and fell directly into Zachary’s arms.
