Chapter 108 After the Storm
**Thelma Zane’s POV**
After ensuring Dorothy was safely transported to the ambulance, I returned to the flower terrace, now a battlefield bearing the scars of our confrontation. The once–arrogant witch, who had exuded an air of invincibility, was now restrained, bound tightly with enchanted ropes. These were no ordinary bindings; they were crafted with spells from a legendary witch of the past, specifically designed to suppress even the most formidable of captives.
For the first time, I noticed a flicker of fear cross her face, but she quickly masked it with feigned bravado. “Don’t think you’ve won so easily,” she hissed, her voice laced with false confidence.
I had no patience for her empty threats. Placing a firm hand over her mouth, I silenced her. ” Save your energy, witch. You’ll need it to face the interrogation. Useless words won’t help you now.”

As they carried out my orders, I turned my attention to the aftermath of the battle. Though we had succeeded in capturing the witch, the chaos she had unleashed had left its mark. The ceremony grounds were in ruins, littered with the remains of plants, shattered structures, and an ominous light cocoon hovering mid–air.
The cocoon was no longer a threat without the witch to catalyze its energy, but it remained a delicate matter. Dispersing its power required precision and patience. Any attempt to destroy it by force would turn it into a devastating bomb capable of leveling the entire campus.
Surveying the damage, I couldn’t help but sigh. Perhaps we should just tear the whole place. down and start over,” I muttered. “First, the graduation ceremony is ruined, and now, we might not even reopen in time for the next semester.”
The thought of rebuilding was daunting. The cost of repairs would undoubtedly fall on the government, and the process of assessing and demolishing unsafe structures would be lengthy. It was a logistical nightmare, but there was no other choice
Nearby, soldiers were tending to the students, many of whom were still in shock. Parents had been notified and were already on their way to retrieve their children. This was undoubtedly at graduation day these students would never forget. Alongside their gowns and diplomas, they had witnessed a battle between werewolf grandmasters and a powerful witch–a story they would likely recount for the rest of their lives.
Among the students, I spotted Mara and Avril huddled under a blanket, their faces pale but relieved. Perrin stood beside them, his posture protective.

When they saw me, Mara’s worried voice broke through the din. “Thelma! Are you hurt?
Moon Goddess, you stayed in the middle of all that chaos! Do you realize how dangerous that was?”
Avril chimed in, her curiosity getting the better of her. “Or did you already know what was going to happen? The way the warriors and grandmasters followed your commands… it was like they were taking orders from royalty.”
I smiled at their concern but kept my response vague. “Let’s just say my status demanded their cooperation. There’s nothing more to it.”
Thankfully, they didn’t press further, though their worry was evident.
“Where’s Dorothy?” Mara asked, her tone anxious. “She stayed behind with you. Is she okay? You’re not hiding something from us, are you?”
“Dorothy is injured,” I explained. “She’s been sent to the hospital, but she’ll be fine. You don’t need to worry.”
Mara placed a hand on my arm, her voice softening. “We’re not prying, Thelma. We’re just concerned. You and Dorothy mean a lot to us. If there’s anything we can do to help, just say
the word.”

Their sincerity touched me, but I couldn’t divulge the truth. “Thank you, girls. I promise, everything is under control. For now, wait for your parents and get some rest.”
Turning to Perrin, I added with a teasing smile, “Keep an eye on them, Mr. Gentleman. That’s your job now.”
Perrin flushed slightly but nodded. “Don’t worry. I’ve got it covered.”
With the safe zone under control, my presence was no longer required. I headed straight to the palace, where my family was waiting.
The moment I stepped through the doors, my mother rushed to me, wrapping me in a tight embrace. “Oh, Thelma! Thank the Moon Goddess you’re safe. I was so worried!”
Her voice trembled, and tears streaked her cheeks as she clung to me. I gently patted her back, trying to reassure her. “I’m fine, Mother. It’s over now.”
But her sharp eyes caught the edge of my cloak, stained with blood from the wound on my leg. Gasping, she pulled back to examine me more closely. “You’re hurt!”
My father entered just as she began to panic. Placing a steadying hand on her shoulder, he said, “Calm down, my love. Wounds are proof of bravery. Our daughter has shown courage today.”
Though his words were meant to soothe, my mother was inconsolable. She buried her face in his chest, sobbing. “I understand, but she’s still my little girl. Seeing her hurt is unbearable.

My father met my eyes with a helpless smile and a subtle nod, silently urging me to endure her fussing.
Kara, ever the voice of reason, stepped forward. “Your Majesties, Tracy is prepared to treat Princess Thelma’s injuries. Shall we proceed?”
At this, my mother wiped her tears and hurried me toward the medical room. “Yes, yes, course! Let’s not delay.”

Despite my protests that I was fine, she insisted on staying by my side throughout the examination. Her worry was unwavering, but beneath it, I saw pride shining in her eyes.
As Tracy worked on my wounds, I couldn’t help but reflect on the day’s events. We had faced a dangerous foe and emerged victorious, but the cost was high. Lives had been shaken, and the scars–both physical and emotional–would linger.
Even so, we had achieved what we set out to do. The witch was captured, the students were safe, and Dorothy, though injured, was alive. The storm had passed, and now, it was time to rebuild.
