Chapter 12
Sebastian and Ambrose were fighting more violently by the second. Liam and Henry were afraid things might escalate further and started pulling them apart.
“Alright, enough! Stop!” Liam shouted.
Ambrose moved his lips, wiping the blood from his mouth. “Sebastian, you’re divorced from Roxanne now. She’s single, and I have every right to pursue her.”
Filled with fury, Sebastian swung at Liam, knocking him away. He lunged forward, grabbing Ambrose by the neck.
But Ambrose didn’t back down. The two men were now gripping each other’s throats.
With great difficulty, Ambrose forced the words out, “Sebastian, I knew you were playing with fire the day I found out you were messing around with Lexi. I just watched quietly as you wore down Roxanne’s love for you bit by bit.
“From the very beginning, I never believed Roxanne would fall for someone like you, but I didn’t say anything. I just wanted to see if you were dumb enough to believe that bitch. And sure enough, you were stupid enough to do it.”
“I wanted to wait until you pushed her into a corner and watch her lose all hope, then I would step in to help her clear her name. But we both underestimated her resilience. She saved herself.
“The moment she stood up to you in court was the moment her love for you died. You destroyed it all.”
Sebastian’s anger reached a boiling point. “You’ve been secretly interested in my woman, it’s probably you who told her about me and Lexi…”
“Come to your senses!” Ambrose shouted. “I’m not as vile as you think. You and Lexi were already together, and she’s not blind! Was I the one who forced you to be with her? Did I encourage you to sleep with her?”
Ambrose sneered. “Fine, even if I did push you into it, let me ask you–did I force Lexi’s bed? Could I make you sleep with her?”

The veins on Sebastian’s forehead bulged as if they were about to burst any moment. His rage consumed him completely, and he wanted nothing more than to strangle Ambrose.
Fearing things might go too far, Liam gritted his teeth and grabbed a bottle, smashing it against Sebastian’s head.
Sebastian collapsed to the ground, blood rushing to his head.
Liam pointed at Ambrose. “What the hell were you thinking, provoking him like that? You
really want to get yourself killed?”
“Henry, help!” Liam yelled.
“Oh, right.” Henry finally reacted, rushing to help lift Sebastian and get him to the hospital.
Ambrose rubbed his sore throat; it still hurt.
The private room was a wreck, smashed and broken from the fight.
The manager must have seen someone being carried out. Only then did he dare to enter. He had already calculated the damage.
Ambrose handed him a card to cover the costs.
Roxanne had no idea what had happened between Ambrose and Sebastian after she had left, but the words she had overheard earlier had certainly left a bad taste in her mouth. It felt like swallowing a fly.
She hadn’t expected the man she had once loved so deeply to have such a disgusting side and to treat her so poorly.
She entered a bar alone. Sitting at the counter, she ordered a cocktail and sipped it slowly.
It didn’t take her long to finish the first glass, so she ordered another. She didn’t know how many she had after that, but soon, her head was spinning. Suddenly, her phone buzzed in her pocket.
She pulled it out and saw a message from Vivian. “I went to the hospital to get some blood pressure meds for my Grandpa. I saw Sebastian being carried in, his face badly injured. Could it be because of a case he shouldn’t have taken on, and now he’s being retaliated against?”
Roxanne squinted at the message. She was too tipsy to type, so she sent a voice message instead. “Let him die.”
Vivian heard the message and grinned.
“I’m going to check if he’s dead yet.”
