Chapter 24–Breaking Free
After a long day at work, Emily hummed to herself as she packed her belongings. Only the distant conversation of a late–working coworker and the soft hum of the air conditioner remained
in the office after the bar had subded.
She gave her desk a final look before zipping her suitcase, everything was in its proper place. Tonight would be as passionate and thrilling as every other night she spent with Sebastian.
She arrived at the ground floor with the slight ding, and the elevator ride to the parking. went smoothly. With her heels clicking on the tile floor, she stepped outside and headed for bet
She smirked when she saw her reflection in the rearview mires as she sad into the driver’s seat and adjusted it. She would remind Sebastian tonight of his inability to resist her and the reason he consistently returned in spite of his better judgment.
It was not far from the hotel. She drove her car easily through the dark streets, knowing the route by memory. Her face was briefly shadowed by the streetlight glare, but her mind was focused only on
parked where she usually does when she got there, and the lot was mostly deserted except for a few cars strewn about. As she passed through the lobby, the receptionist gave her a courteous nod, but Emily didn’t linger.
With the number ingrained in her mind, she headed to their typical room. She walked toward the door, which opened almost immediately after her gentle knock, her shoes muted against the carpeted corridor.
Sebastian stood there, the dim lighting from the room casting shadows across his face. He looked tired, but his eyes lit up faintly when he saw her.
“Hey, Batman” she teased, her tone platil
He chuckled, the sound low and almost eluctant,
“Hey, Catwoman”
As she entered and placed her suitcase on the table, she thought the nickname was hitting,
Sebastian walked silently behind her as her fingers traced over the edge of the couch. He leaned in and kissed the bend of her neck, his presence weighty, almost seal, his hands moved from her stomach to her hips, causing her to thudder and her breath to catch a little,
“Wanna see why I deserve that money and more?” she murmured, turning face ham, her eyes alight with mischief.
He nodded, chuckling softly, and his lips twitched into a smirk. Emily leaned in and kissed him, her lips quickly deepening, her hands moving to unbuckle his belt. The tension between them
sed, isited, and soon they were lost in the heat of their passion
The cool tile in the restroom contrasted with the intensity of their emotions as they staged inside. They moved freely and wildly as water pouted out of the shower. Upon returning to the bed, the frame creaked under their weight, the sheets tangling around their legs as they moved in sync, their shared intensity reached a fever pitch.
Both Later lay sprawled on the bed, their bodies exhausted but their heaths even, while tuedes Einally took them, Emily made gentle kissing motions with her lips while she stroked slow circles actos Sebastian’s chest,
“You always come back to me she whispered, her voice Laced with satadas excitement of being with Emily, yet tonight something felt different,
astian remained silent, his thoughts were jumbled as he gazed at the ceiling. There was no denying the
weight of their entanglement in a way he had never felt before.
Early in the morning, Sebastian was awakened by the gentle custle of curtain fabric. He turned to face Emily, who had a calm, sleepy expression on her face. He let himself observe her for a moment, her lipcurving and her chest rising and falling in a way that was almost captivating However, reality evetunially began to weigh hard on him.
He carefully got out of bed so as not to wake her. He hurriedly dieded, trying not to spare at her too long. He tumly persuaded himself that this would be the last time. No more meetings, calls, and most definitely no live million dollars. She had lost hold of whatever spell she had on him
Sebastian stopped at the door and took a final look back. Emily’s hair was spread out on the pillow as she lay tangled in the sheets, Despite her beauty, it was insufficient. The cool night air picked his skin as he shook his head, picked up his luggage, and went outside
Leaving Emily and the complicated web of their affair behind, he slid into his car, turned on the ignition, and drove away.
This time, he wasn’t going to turn around.
