In the office. Harrison couldn’t help stealing glances at Matthew every now and then.

Kathleen exasperated. “What’s wrong with you?”
She was still thinking about how Harrison scolded her when she accidentally humped into him and Matthew earlier.
Harrison said grumpily, “You’re really good at pulling strings to get things done.”
“That has nothing to do with me. I wouldn’t dare to try and pull strings with Matthew. It was Matthew who took the initiative to ask me for the documents.”
At the mention of this, Kathleen felt that it was strange. She remembered that when she mentioned Nadia just now, Matthew didn’t seem to care about Nadia at all.
She thought for a moment, leaned closer to Harrison, and lowered her voice. “Hey. I have to ask you something. How was the relationship between Matthew and his wife before?”

You’ll have to ask Mr. Brock about that.” Harrison rubbed his chin. “Nadia has never asked Mr. Brock for help. Who knows if he’d make an exception for her? Maybe Mr. Brock has been waiting for Nadia to contact him.”

Harrison said. “Don’t be so skeptical. Didn’t you notice that he changed his attitude when you mentioned Nadia just now?”
Kathleen snorted at him and said, “That’s not a change in attitude. He only did that because he wanted to go against Nadia. It means that Matthew still holds a grudge about being dumped by Nadia and doesn’t want to embarrass himself
Harrison rolled his eyes and couldn’t be bothered to argue with Kathleen.

In the office, Matthew had already finished reading the proposal. He called Harrison on the intercoms and said, “Please ask Miss Hayden to come in”
Harrison hung up the phone and looked at Kathleen. “Miss Hayden, Mr. Brock asked you to go into his office.”
Kathleen glanced at him suspiciously and then looked at Matthew, who was in his office. Only then did she walk over and knock on the door.

Kathleen nodded. “No problem.”
Then, she asked him. “When can you give me an answer!
Matthew replied, “In two weeks”
Kathleen frowned. Even if Matthew decided to cooperate with her in two weeks, the whole process of deciding, confirming, and signing the contract would probably take a month or two. It was a long period of time, and she was a little worried about Nadia.
“Can you speed it up a little!” Kathleen asked, then added with a smile, ‘It’s mainly because my colleagues are also trying to invite other customers too recently. I’m just afraid that someone else would grab the opportunity first.”
Matthew looked up at her and said, “It’s okay. It’s up to fate to do business. If someone else really grabs it first, it means that we are not destined to work with each other.”

Kathleen switched to hold her phone with the other hand. When she looked up, she saw Matthew and Harrison coming back to the company. followed by Lurille.
Lucille was holding a folder in her hand. Her cold and beautiful face looked serious with her work. She seemed to be reporting something to Mathew. From how fast her lips were moving, Kathleen could see that she was talking at a steady pace.
Matthew still looked calm and indifferent. He didn’t look at Lucille, but Kathleen could tell that he was listening carefully.
Kathleen felt that such a scene was an eyesore. She said to Nadia, “Wait a minute,” hung up, and snapped a photo of the scene in secret.
Maybe Matthew sensed something. He turned suddenly to look at Kathleen. The sharpness in his brown eyes left Kathleen a little Bustered and embarrassed.
But she calmed down quickly and pretended not to see Matthew. She covered her face with her phone and pretended to be checking it seriously.
Matthew turned around and told Harrison in a low voice, “You can go back first.”
Harrison nodded. “Okay.”
“But…” Lucille wanted to say something as she looked at Matthew but stopped on second thought. In the end, she just nodded obediently. “Okay.”
When she looked away, she glanced at Kathleen, who was still on her phone, lightly. Then, she looked away and walked into the building with Harrison

It was still showing the photos that Kathleen had just taken in secret. It was unknown whether it was because Kathleen was really such a great photographer or because Lucille was looking at Matthew so straightforwardly that the adiniration and adoration in her eyes were visible to the naked eye.
Just like when she was young, Kathleen couldn’t help feeling irritated as she looked at Lucille. She was also used to venting her anger immediately

When her phone beeped from getting a Line message, Nadia picked it up without thinking and save Matthew and Lucille in the photo immediately.
In the photo, Matthew was wearing a black sut as usual. He was tall and confident, looking cold and distant as usual. He was more than 5’ll call His perfect figure, temperament, and facial features made him stand out in the crowd. His well–defined profile looked sharp and cold in the night. It was Matthew, whom Nadia was familiar withs, but it was also because of how famillar she was with him that her heart ached uncontrollably when she saw his photo.

Nadia didn’t want to know any more news about Matthew anymore, including his work, his life, and even his love life.
She deleted the photo and texted Kathleen, [He’s single now. He has the right to choose the life he wants. Don’t take it to heart.]
