Chapter 28
Rodney couldn’t help glancing into the room as he spoke. “Or is your wife already here with you? Let’s eat together when you’re free. I want to see who it is that’s won the hean of dear Matthew.”
Matthew glanced at him and asked. “Did you come here just to ask about my love
Rodney said. “I’m just showing my concern.”
Matthew ignored him and sat down a little further away from him. When he looked away, he glanced at his phone, which was on the coffee table
The screen of his phone was still unlocked, and the surveillance video in the hotel lobby was still on. It was paused to show the figure of the -young girl running to the revolving door, and the bracelet on her wrist was slightly raised as she walked.
Rodney also noticed how Matthew was looking at the phone. He glanced at it subconsciously and asked, “Is that your wife?”
Matthew replied, “No.”
“Since that’s not her, then why are you staring at her Rodney asked as he moved closer to the phone curiously. He caught a glimpse of the bracelet on the girl’s wrist accidentally and let out a cry of surprise before suddenly turning to look at Matthew.
“Is that. He pointed at the girl on the phone. “Is that Nathalia?
“But this bracelet.” He pointed at the bracelet on the girl’s wrist. “Isn’t that the one you gave Nathalia when we were little?”
Rodney had known Manhew since he was a child, so naturally, he knew Nathalia too.
Back then, Matthew had always been indifferent and unable to blend in because of the death of his biological mother. He liked to be alone, and only Nathalia who was quiet but sweet, would keep him company quietly all the time.
At that time, Rodney didn’t yet understand what death was. He was still young and naughty and enjoyed going against Matthew. He didn’t know what could be said and what couldn’t.
Seeing how Nathalia was with Matthew all the time, Rodney even led a group of friends to laugh at the two of them, saying that they were a couple and that Nathalia had to marry Matthew when they grew up.
In fact, Rodney was still too young to understand what it meant to be a couple and to get married. He just said all that because he had learned it from watching TV.
Nathalia was shy. Although she didn’t know what it meant at such a young age, she knew that she was being teased. She felt so wronged that her eyes nurned red. As a result. Matthew beat Rodney up for the first time in their lives.
From then on, Rodney behaved himself and even started to admire Matthew for beating him up. He also began to take a leaf out of Nathalia’s book and approach Matthew shamelessly. That was why he remembered that this bracelet was a birthday gift from Matthew to Nathalia.
It was Matthew’s eighth birthday. In order to build a good relationship with him, Selena gave him a high–quality pendant carved with angels with his name engraved on in for his birthday.
Later, when Matthew’s father asked Matthew what he wanted for his birthday, Matthew, who had never asked for anything before, asked to pick out * gift himself.
It was rare for Matthew, who was always so quiet, to take the initiative to make a request. Naturally, Matthew’s father was overjoyed and agreed.
In the end, the birthday gift that Matthew picked out was an emerald Eye of Horus bracelet with Nathalia’s name engraved on it. It was made according to Matthew’s pendant carved with angels.
At that time, when Selena gave him the pendant carved with angels, she told him that men should wear angels, and women should wear the Eye of Horus. By engraving his name on it, the pendant would ensure that he was safe and healthy. Therefore, Matthew decided to give something with the same meaning to Nathalia.
However, at that time, Nathalia was still a child. Matthew was afraid that she would be strangled by the necklace when she slept, so he ended up making a bracelet. However, in fact, the bracelet could also be worn as a necklace.
Although Rodney didn’t see Matthew give the bracelet to Nathalia with his own eyes, he knew about it. He had also seen Nathalia wearing it all the time as if it were her treasure.
Although Rodney was young at that time and couldn’t remember what Nathalia looked like very clearly, he had a deep impression of this bracelet. After all, the second beating that he got in his life had something to do with this bracelet

Chapter 28
At that time, Matthew ignored him, so Rodney went to tease Nathalia, Matthew’s little sidekick, when he was bored.
The way he teased girls at such a young age was either pulling her hair or taking her toys away from her.
But Rodney accidentally tore off Nathalia’s bracelet and refused to give it back to her by holding it up in the air. As he was taller than her, she couldn’t get the bracelet back and started getting anxious. The more anxious she was, the prouder he felt and the more he wanted to tease her. He didn’t expect that she would jump up to take it back. As a result, the bracelet broke when she tried to pull it out of his hand.
Nathalia’s eyes turned red, even though she wasn’t someone who cried often. In the end, Rodney was beaten up by Matthew for the second time in his life.
Therefore, even though it happened so many years ago, Rodney still recognized this bracelet at a glance. His memory of it was so deep, and the design of the bracelet was so unique. After all, Matthew had designed it by mixing and matching when he was young. It was ugly in a very unique
way.
Rodney turned to look at Matthew in surprise again.
Matthew was much calmer than Rodney. “I’m not sure.”
He had never had a chance to examine it up close.
“It looks just like it. It’s so ugly that it’s unique, Rodney said as he glanced at the screen of Matthew’s phone again. Then, he looked at Matthew and said. “She looks to be the right age as well. As for her facial features, not everyone looks exactly how they did when they were younger. After all. Nathalia is all grown up now. This girl might be her.”
Matthew shook his head slowly. “My intuition tells me that that’s not the case.”
Rodney raised an eyebrow. “Intuition?”
Matthew said, “Nathalia isn’t that flamboyant.”
He remembered that when Nathalia was a child, she had always been quiet, well–behaved, and didn’t talk much. She was sensible and kind, not as domineering and willful as the strange girl just now.
Speaking of which, Nadia was more like Nathalia.
Nadia?
Matthew couldn’t help but be stunned.
