Chapter 30
In the most famous local bar, Matthew was sitting in a corner, holding a glass of wine and looking at the wine in it absent- mindedly.
Rodney picked the bar in person and said that he must not disappoint Matthew because it was rare for Matthew to agree to come out for a drink. However, after taking a look around, as Rodney never visited the nightclub often, like Matthew, he didn’t know where to go either. In the end, he found this bar, which was known as the favorite bar for local and international tourists, online.
When they arrived at the bar, Rodney found that it was more like a club and the perfect place for pick–ups.
The strong beat of the music on the dance floor made his ears hurt, and the flickering lights made his eyes hurt, not to mention the group of people dancing on the dance floor.
Rodney was a little regretful, but he was surprised to see that Matthew didn’t seem to mind at all
After arriving at the bar, Matthew came to a corner and sat down. He ordered a bottle of wine casually and drank it from time to time. He never looked around and was not in a hurry to finish his drink. On the contrary, he drank it slowly as usual, looking elegant and noble.
Rodney really couldn’t figure out what Matthew was thinking.
If there was something wrong with his marriage, Matthew didn’t look like a man in distress for being dumped by his wife. After all, he could still maintain his elegance, so his mood didn’t fluctuate too much.
But if there was nothing wrong with Matthew, he didn’t look okay at all. Rodney could tell that Matthew, who was always calm and restrained, was a little different from his usual self. Why did he look a little… absent–minded?
Rodney couldn’t help sitting closer to Matthew. In the deafening music, he almost had to shout in Matthew’s ear, “Matthew, tell me the truth. Is there something wrong with your relationship with your wife?”
However, Matthew ignored him, as he would even without the disturbance of the music, let alone now.
Matthew acted as if he hadn’t heard Rodney. He took a sip of wine slowly and looked at Rodney. “How long are you going to be
here for?”
“I haven’t decided yet, Rodney replied at the top of his voice, “it depends on how the interviews go. We want to find a long- term and stable partner, so it may take more time.
He then asked Matthew, “What about you?”
Matthew replied, “It depends.”
Rodney raised an eyebrow and said, “On what? I thought you only followed plans and schedules all the time. Don’t you have a good plan for everything all the time? You can carry every plan out perfectly
Matthew said, “There are always accidents in life.”
Rodney asked, “For example?”
Matthew glanced at the girl walking toward thern with a glass of wine in her hand.
“Now.”
Just as the girl’s arm was about to fall softly on his shoulder, Matthew dodged in Rodney’s direction. The girl’s arm, which was supposed to land on Matthew’s shoulder, ended up on Rodney’s shoulder instead.
Rodney pulled the girl’s hand down instinctively, stood up, and paid no attention to her change in expression, “Hey, Matthew!” However, Matthew ignored him and turned to leave..
Rodney hurried him.
They had to cross the dance floor to leave the bar from where they were.

Chapter 30
The young men and women on the dance floor danced to the music.
Rodney forced his way through the crowd with difficulty to catch up with Matthew, but every time he was about to catch up with Matthew, the crowd pushed him back again.
“Matthew, wait for me!” Rodney shouted at Matthew anxiously.
Matthew didn’t stop. Rodney didn’t know if it was because Matthew didn’t hear him or because Matthew didn’t want to talk to
him.
Rodney was so anxious that he couldn’t help forcing his way through the crowd hard. He accidentally touched a girl’s shoulder. “What are you doing?” A crisp and sharp voice rang out. Matthew, who was walking with his head down, stopped in his tracks and turned to look at the girl beside Rodney.
Rodney also turned around subconsciously. When he saw the girl’s face clearly, he blurted out in surprise, “Nathalia?”
He had just seen this girl earlier on Matthew’s phone.
However, the name “Nathalia” clearly meant nothing to the girl. She glanced at Rodney inexplicably and said, “What Nathalia? Can you hit on girls in a better way? You’re so old–fashioned.”
Rodney couldn’t help but look up and exchange a look with Matthew. He suddenly felt that he could somewhat understand Matthew now, but when he saw Matthew looking at the bracelet on the girl’s raised wrist, he couldn’t help but be stunned too. Then, Rodney looked at the girl with a cheeky smile on his face and said, “Sorry, pretty girl, I mistook you for someone else.”
The girl was also generous. It’s okay.”
Rodney patted her on the shoulder again. “You look very much like a friend of mine. Can I have your number?”
In order to show his sincerity, he took out his business card. “My name is Rodney Moore, the boss of Gloraxy & Gloraxy & Rodney Architecture. Are you interested in getting to know me better?”
The girl looked at him suspiciously and then looked at the business card he handed over slowly. She took it and glanced at it. Then, she took out her phone briskly and said, ‘Okay. I’ll add you on WhatsApp then.”
Matthew didn’t come forward. Instead, he turned around and left.
Instead of going straight to the parking lot, Matthew walked around aimlessly.
He didn’t want to go back to the hotel, but he didn’t know where to go.
The streets of Meadoland late at night were strange and quiet. There were very few passers–by, except for couples who occasionally walked past Matthew.
Matthew looked at the couple who were hugging and snuggling with each other playfully. Then, he looked away expressionlessly and stared at the road ahead of him.
The thick wall behind them had long since blocked out the noisy music of the bar.
Matthew didn’t like the hustle and bustle in bars, nor did he like to waste time taking walks and shopping. However, for the time being, it was the best way for him to kill time.
The faces of the young Nathalia and the girl who had just berated Rodney and raised her phone kept popping up in Matthew’s mind. Nevertheless, Matthew couldn’t find anything they had in common. Just as he was thinking about it, Nadia’s face suddenly popped up in his mind.
Matthew stopped in his tracks and looked up at the apartment building Nadia lived in. He turned around and walked to the car parked at the entrance of the bar. Before even getting to the car, he took out the key and unlocked it. He opened the door and got in the car. He spun the steering wheel quickly, and the black Cayenne slid out of the parking space smoothly.
Rodney just happened to walk out of the bar now. When he saw Matthew, he waved at him quickly and said, “Wait for me.” Matthew rolled down the window and replied, ‘I have something to do. You can a taxi home yourself.”

After that, he threw a set of keys at him, rolled up the window, and drove away.
Rodney was rendered speechless
Nadia had just taken a shower and finished blow–drying her hair. Just as she was about to turn off the light and go to bed, someone knocked on the door.
Nadia looked at the door in confusion, turned off the hairdryer, walked to the door hesitantly, and asked loudly, “Who is it?” “It’s me,” Matthew said calmly outside the door.
Taken aback, Nadia looked up at the clock on the wall in confusion. It was already past 11 o’clock at night.
“Why are you here?” she asked.
“Open the door first, Matthew said in a calm tone. His voice was not loud, but there was a hint of determination in it that made Nadia feel that she couldn’t refuse him.
Nadia frowned in confusion, hesitated for a moment, and went up to open the door.
Matthew was standing at the door, wearing a casual long black coat.
His gaze
fell on Nadia’s face as she opened the door. His eyes were deep, calm, and inquiring. Nadia was confused by his gaze and even paused unconsciously. “What… What is it?” Matthew didn’t say anything and just looked at her with his deep and calm brown eyes.
