Chapter 32
His eyes already answered her.
Nadia didn’t know why Matthew suddenly associated her with Nathalia.
Not to mention that it was without warning.
In the afternoon, he didn’t show any sign of this.
“Did… did something happen to you?” Nadia frowned and asked, “Why did you suddenly think of this?”
Matthew didn’t hide it from her. “I met a girl who might be Nathalia.”
Nadia felt as if her heart had been pierced by a knife, but she relaxed soon. After all, she divorced Matthew when she was still in love with him. It had not been that long since their divorce and she still cared about him. It was normal for her to have an emotional reaction when she heard him mention another girl suddenly.
After comforting herself, Nadia looked at Matthew with a smile and congratulated him sincerely. That’s good news. Congratulations.”
Matthew’s face fell suddenly.
Nadia was keenly aware that Matthew seemed to have grown colder. “Are you unhappy?”
“No.” It was another one–word answer, but Nadia could clearly see that Matthew did not mean what he said.
Nadia pretended not to notice and responded with a hollow laugh. Suddenly, she didn’t know how to continue this topic, so
picked up a glass of water and drank it in silence.

Matthew looked at her and asked, “‘Aren’t you curious?”
Nadia looked at him in confusion. I’m not. Why would I be?”
Matthew’s lips trembled slightly. He smiled quickly as he looked at Nadia and said, “You’re right.”
Nadia didn’t quite understand what he meant, but Matthew didn’t seem to plan to explain any further. Instead, he changed the topic again. “I’m not sure if it’s her,”
Once again, Nadia did not know what to say. It seemed that she had congratulated him too early.
“So…” Nadia was still a little confused. “What does that have to do with me? Why did you come to see me?”
Nadia remembered that he had just asked her if she had changed her name and if anything special had happened to her when she was a child. An uncertain idea flashed through her mind. She looked at Matthew uncertainly and asked, “Do you think I’m Nathalia? Do you have any signs or a clue indicating that I’m her?”
Matthew replied, “No.”
Nadia frowned. “Then why do you have such a thought so suddenly?”
“I don’t know,” Matthew said. He really had no idea why he had associated Nadia with Nathalia again.
It was not the first time he had associated the two of them.
The first time happened in Matthew’s third year of senior high school when he first saw Nadia. She stood on the podium and introduced herself cautiously. “Hello, everyone. My name is Nadia Crosby.” Her quiet, gentle, and well–behaved temperament reminded Matthew of Nathalia when she was young. It was also because of this temperament that Matthew paid more attention to Nadia unconsciously. But it was also because of how much he had tried to learn about her that he knew that Nadia had not skipped a grade on the day they graduated.
Nathalia was about three years younger than him. When she was still in kindergarten, Matthew was already in the second year of elementary school. Without skipping grades, it was impossible for her to be in the same year as him. Not to mention that they were not even of the same age.

Therefore, although Matthew was disappointed at that time, he had to accept the truth. Fortunately, he had already graduated at that time, and Nadia was gone. He chose to return to his own life, and the two of them went their separate ways.
Just like before, there was still no sign or clue that Nadia had anything to do with Nathalia. Matthew only associated the two because he was unwilling to admit that the girl he suspected to be Nathalia was really Nathalia from the bottom of his heart.
He knew that people would change, especially Nathalia, who had been separated from her family. She must have gone through a drastic change in terms of the environment she grew up in. It was not impossible for her personality to change as she grew up in another environment.
Matthew knew very well but he couldn’t accept that the beautiful little girl in his memory had grown up to become someone totally unlike her when she was young. That was why Matthew would rather believe Nadia was Nathalia.
