“Why did you suddenly get divorced and decide to go to school?” Kathleen asked as she helped Nadia carry the suitcase to the conveyor belt in the hall.
Nadia met her after transferring to the new high school. They were in the same class in the forth year of senior high school and happened to be in the same department of the same university. They had totally different personalities. One was lively and cheerful, while the other was quiet and well- behaved, but it did not affect their relationship at all.
After graduating from university, Kathleen did not choose a job related to her major. Instead, she joined a real estate company and was in charge of the mall business. She was on business trips all year round.
When she finally came back from her business trip, she heard from Nadia that she had divorced and was preparing to get a master’s degree.
Kathleen knew that Nadia and Matthew had rushed into marriage. At that time, Kathleen was amazed. In her eyes, Nadia and Matthew had no interaction with each other, and they were like strangers to each other at the class reunion. But in the end, they got married in less than a month, and now they got divorced without warning.
Kathleen couldn’t understand it.
Nadia was checking in. She turned to look at Kathleen and said, “I want to change my life.”
Kathleen raised her eyebrows and said, “Your life is very good now, isn’t it? You don’t need to work and have someone to support you. Many people envy your good luck,”
Nadia said, “It’s better to rely on myself than on others. Besides, I didn’t marry Matthew for his money.”
Kathleen asked, “Then why? Matthew doesn’t look like a jerk.”
In her opinion, a divorced couple would either have different values or affairs. Nadia and Matthew didn’t seem to have such problems.
Nadia said, “It has nothing to do with him. It’s my fault.”
Kathleen smiled and said. “You two p
got married and divorced in such a hurry. Did you sign a contract with him?”
Nadia said, “Couples sign contracts to get something from each other. What does he see in me?”
Kathleen replied, “Your face, figure, educational background, and IQ… Which one of them isn’t worth his attention?”
Nadia turned to look at her. “A man like him can get any woman he wants.”
Kathleen titted her head and thought for a moment. “That’s true.”
“The staff member returned Nadia her passport and boarding pass. Nadia took them and looked at her watch. “There’s still some time before boarding. Shall we have a meal first?”
Kathleen nodded. “Okay.“”
She stepped forward, put her arm around Nadia’s shoulder, and was about to go with her.
Just as Nadia was stuffing her passport into her bag, Kathleen suddenly held her. Nadia’s arm shook, and the passport fell to the ground. She quickly bent down to pick it up, but before she could reach the passport, a shiny and clean leather shoe stepped on it.
Nadia watched helplessly as her passport was stepped on.

The shoe owner realized that he had stepped on something.
“I’m sorry.” When the clear and low voice sounded, the owner of the leather shoes had already lifted his foot and bent down to pick up the passport.
Nadia and the owner of the leather shoes looked at each other.
“Nadia?” the po
person called her uncertainly.
Nadia did not remember who he was.
Kathleen looked over and greeted him in surprise, “Darrell?”
This instantly reminded Nadia.
Darrell Carson was from the same university as them. He was a senior in university when Nadia and Kathleen were freshmen. They were all in the Architectural Department. He had been the guidance counselor of Nadia and Kathleen for more than half a year.
Nadia know Darrell as soon as she entered university. He was handsome, talented in designing, and self disciplined. He was a genius praised by his teachers and classmates. The only flaw was that he was too cold and kept a distance from everyone. He was similar to Matthew in this aspect.
Nadia also kept a distance from everyone. She was quiet and did not like to socialize or show off. Hence, although Darrell had been their guidance counselor for more than half a year, she had never contacted him except when it was necessary for her studies. After graduation, Nadia never contacted Darrell again. She did not expect to meet him here.
“Darrell,” Nadia greeted him awkwardly.
Darrell didn’t seem to care that she had not recognized him and greeted her politely.
Kathleen had already started the conversation. “Long time no see. I didn’t expect to meet you here.”
Darrell smiled, “Long time no see.”
Kathleen also smiled. “I just talked to someone about you a few days ago, and I met you today. Maybe it’s fate!”
As she spoke, she glanced at her watch and said, “Darrell, are you in a hurry? Let’s have a meal together.”
Darrell also looked at the time and nodded. “Okay”
In order to avoid missing the plane, they chose a relatively quiet restaurant near the airport for a meal. As soon as they sat down, Kathleen handed the menu to Nadia and Darrell. “See what you want to eat.”
“Anything will do.”
“Anything will do.”
Nadia and Darrell replied at the same time.
Kathleen was stunned and looked at them with a smile. “Huh, you have such a tacit understanding.”
Nadia smiled and pushed the menu to Kathleen and Darrell, “You two order”
Nadia didn’t have much appetite today, wondering if it was because she didn’t sleep well last night.
Darrell did not refuse this time and took the menu

Kathleen raised her head and subconsciously followed Nadia’s gaze, only to see Selena.

Selena was sitting at the table next to them, with her back to Nadia. She was complaining to her friend about her son and daughter–in–law. “Nadia is not pregnant either. I thought she was infertile, but it turned out that my son didn’t want a child.”
Nadia paused and heard a woman ask Selena, “Matthew said that?”
“Yes. I don’t know if I should be happy or sad about this. His father and I don’t like Nadia. She’s not a suitable match for Matthew. She can’t help him with his career. Moreover, her family is a burden. I told Matthew to divorce her, but he refused, I thought it was because they had a good relationship and he couldn’t bear to part with her. But now it seems that Matthew is too responsible to abandon his wife. Otherwise, it would be impossible for him not to want a child. Although he looks cold and difficult to get close to, he has always liked children.”

Nadia gave her a comforting smile.
Darrell raised his head and looked thoughtfully at Selena, who was sitting opposite him. Perhaps because his gaze was too intense, Selena turned to look at him in confusion. When she saw Nad a sitting opposite Darrell, she frowned,
Kathleen turned her attention to Darrell. “Why are you in Faydol too? Are you here on a business trip?”
“No,” Darrell said flatly, “I am a native of Faydol
Kathleen opened her mouth wide in surprise. “What a coincidence! Are you planning to work in Faydol?”
Darrell shook his head. “No.”
Seeing that Kathleen was still looking at him eagerly, he added, “I’m going to study for a while.”
Kathleen smiled. “You’re not going to study at Chatford Institute of Technology, are you?”
She was just joking. Unexpectedly, Darrell’s hand holding the coffee cup paused. He looked at Kathleen and then glanced at Nadia.
“You guys are going too?”
“Oh my!” Kathleen was shocked. “Are you really going there?”
“You’ll not take the same flight, will you?” Kathleen asked. She urged Nadia to take out her ticket to have a look.
Nadia and Darrell took out their flight tickets at the same time. They would really be on the same flight.
“That’s great. I’ll leave Nadia to you, Darell,”
Darrell smiled at Nadia. “Congratulations”
Nadia replied with a smile, “Thank you”
At that moment, Kathleen received a call. She picked her phone up and glanced at it. Then, she stood up and said with a smile, “You guys chat. I’ll take a
