Chapter 10
Did Jacob make breakfast for me to get something in return or did he make it to apologize to me for catching him with Lisa on his lap?
I didn’t know the answer, but what I knew was that this special breakfast wasn’t genuine.
“Eat.” He murmured when he noticed me staring at the tray.
“Okay.” I answered him as I picked up the fork and started eating. “Why did you change your phone’s wallpaper?” Jacob asked as he looked at his phone.
The wallpaper that he was talking about was of him and I, smiling as we stared into each other’s eyes. We took the picture on my
Twenty–second birthday and he was the one that set it as my -wallpaper.
I valued the wallpaper before I realized that he didn’t value me, and once I realized that, I changed it.
I actually changed it after he saw me in an injured state and drove off with Lisa.
Jacob didn’t know about it all this time since he barely gives me any of his attention anymore.
He used to look through my phone and he would give me his phone. for me to look through it too. He said that he wanted to prove that he
trusts me.
However, he doesn’t let me touch his phone anymore just like when I had asked for it to do a school assignment since my phone’s battery died and he refused.
“I wanted a change.” I replied in a curt manner.
A confused look made its way to his face as he asked, “What do you mean? Don’t you want to see our picture together whenever you look at your phone anymore?”
I nodded, “I prefer the wolves wallpaper.”

“Okay.” He muttered as he stared at me.
I continued eating the fries and refused to look

him.
He was cheating on me, yet he wanted me to love him. How ridiculous!
He cleared his throat to get my attention then said in an icy voice, “Alpha Ben invited me and some other Alphas to his barbeque party. I know how much you like attending parties like this, so you wanna go with me? There will be other Lunas there as well.”
I have always liked attending pack events since I get to meet other Lunas and socialize.
Jacob usually took me with him whenever he was invited, but then Gamma Lisa came along, so he stopped taking me, instead, he would take her as his date.
What made him change back to his old ways?
Maybe he was taking me to the party because of the guilt that he was feeling because I’ve caught him cheating red–handed when I found Lisa’s lingerie.
It was soon time for the barbeque and I was filled with excitement. I had hoped to have fun there, but I didn’t expect to be having this much fun.
Jacob and I were sitting at our table as he talked with Alpha Ben while I talked with his Luna mate, Katherine.
Luna Katherine and I have been friends ever since Jacob became my mate. I was so engrossed in our conversation that I forgot that Jacob was sitting beside me.
That was probably why I was having so much fun.
If forgetting about him when he was sitting next time felt as good as this, just how good would I feel forgetting about him when I was in another pack?
“You’re a Werewolf sports major, right?” Luna Katherine asked me as
she smiled at me.

I nodded, “Yeah, and hopefully, I’ll become a werewolf track runner. after I graduate.”
Werewolf track was a popular sport in the werewolf world which consists of running in wolf against other players to compete for a prize.
Her smile widened as if she was happy for me, and I felt glad to have such a supportive friend.
“Whoa! That’s amazing! I don’t think I’ve ever met a werewolf that loves running like you do.” She joked as she laughed.
I laughed along with her.
“Honey, we need to welcome other guests. Let’s go now.” Alpha Ben said to his mate.
Luna Katherine turned to him and nodded, “Sure.”
She turned back to me as she said, “We’ll talk more later, Luna Farrah.”
“Okay, later.” I replied as I watched them walk away.
“So how’s the barbeque? It’s nice, right?” Jacob asked me, reminding me of his presence.
My mood went down immediately and I nodded stiffly, not wanting to talk to him.
He thought he despised me, but I despised him more.
It was like he has placed wool over my eyes and it was only after losing my baby in that wolf fight that I could finally see him as the jerk he
was.
“Do you want a drink?” He asked me as he stood up from the table. I was eating, so of course, I wanted a drink.
I resisted the urge to groan. Everything he did pissed me off because. I’ve finally come to realize how badly he has been treating me.
“Yeah.” I muttered as I stared at my plate of barbeque ribs.
“Alright, I’ll get it for you.” He replied and just as he turned around, I

spotted Lisa walking towards us.
“Lisa!” Jacob exclaimed as soon as she reached him.
She grabbed his face and pecked both of his cheeks.
He grinned and started caressing her arm.
Lisa’s gaze landed on me and her brows raised in surprise.
She let go of his face and stepped back as she explained, “I deeply apologize for kissing your mate, Luna Farrah. I’m just so excited to see him and you know just how close we are.”
Jacob was staring at her the whole time with a huge grin on his face like he was in love, but when he heard her apology, his smile disappeared and he shot me a disapproving look.
He looked back at her as he cooed, “There’s no need for an apology. You did nothing wrong, Lisa.”
I didn’t want to argue, so I just nodded.
“Everybody, run!” We heard someone yell and suddenly, the barbeque turned chaotic as everyone started running.
Jacob grabbed Lisa’s hand and pulled her close as they
ran away.
I stopped running and stared at their linked hands as my heart clenched in pain.
“Wait, everyone!” Someone yelled, but no one listened.
“Stop!” Alpha Ben yelled loudly in his deep voice.
Everyone stopped and turned to him as he explained, “It was just a misunderstanding. A he–wolf spotted a few wolves running towards us and thought that they were going to attack us, but they’re also guests! I invited them and they decided to come in wolf form. So please, everyone, calm down!”
I noticed the guests in wolf form that he was talking about as they
stood beside him. They were ten in number and they shifted into their human form as soon as he was done speaking.
Murmurs spread around the room as everyone talked about the
incident.
They started walking back to their seats, and I spotted Jacob and Lisa walking towards me.
I turned around and rushed out of the backyard to make my way home.
My flight would be in half an hour and I needed to be at the airport. before it was time.
Twenty minutes later, I walked into the airport while dragging my suitcase and duffel bag.
“Flight 324 is boarding now! Flight 324! Flight 324!” The airport security announced into the microphone as they sat behind their desk.
I pulled my ticket out of my purse and checked it.
“Oh, that’s my flight!” I exclaimed as I rushed to the checkout desk. As I placed my suitcase and duffel bag in the cart, I heard someone say, “I saw her around here.”
I turned to the voice to see Beta Kyle, Jacob and one of our pack
members.
I quickly turned back around and walked through the metal detector machine after keeping my purse in the cart too.
I picked my purse up then rushed to the door leading outside where the plane was waiting. There was a line in front of the desk beside the door as the airport security checked our tickets.
I joined the line, but suddenly, I was yanked out of line.
I turned around to see Jacob pulling me out of line. I pulled my arm out of his grip and moved back in line.
Anger was evident on his face as he scowled and stared at me for a while.
I refused to acknowledge him and continued waiting in line.
“Where the hell do you think you’re going, Farrah?!” He askes me as
