Chapter 14
“I’ll have a waiter come and serve you right away, Sir.” The manager mentioned as she looked around the restaurant.
“Alright, that’s good.” He said and we watched as she walked towards a waiter standing beside a double door that probably lead to the kitchen.
“I haven’t been in this restaurant in what feels like forever!” I exclaimed as I grinned at Mom and Dad then added, “Thanks for taking me out, it really means a lot.”
They both smiled at me and Mom replied, “You don’t need to thank us, sweetie.”
Dad nodded in agreement.
The waiter walked over to us after the manager finished speaking with us and she returned to her desk.
He bowed his head and greeted, “Evening, Gamma Nathan and Mrs. Nathan! What do you want to try tonight?”
Each of us picked up a menu and glanced through it, and Mom was the first one to speak, “I’ll have the grilled salmon and mashed
potatoes.”
“And I’ll have the steak and lasagna.” Dad ordered as he placed his menu on the table.
“For me, it’s the spaghetti bolognese and the pasta salad.” Jess said as she stared at her menu.
“I’ll take the grilled duck and Chinese fried rice.” I said as I placed the menu back on the table.
“Alright. Give me a minute and I’ll bring them right up.” The waiter said after he jotting down everything we said in a small memo.
He turned around and headed to the double doors that he was initially standing beside and walked through them.
It didn’t take long before he came out with a cart and served us our

meal.
“So why don’t you tell us how Harry Ford College is? Did you enjoy going to the school?” Dad asked as he cut a piece of steak and placed it in his mouth.
I shook my head, “Not really. It was a weird school and they’re always trying to kiss the Alpha’s ass. We even have to say a pledge to him every morning before we start our first lecture for the day.”
“What?!” Mom asked in shock as she held a hand against her chest.
Dad and Jessica looked just as shocked.
“That’s crazy! Alpha Cameron would never allow anything like that to happen.” Dad said as he shook his head in disbelief.
“Exactly!” I exclaimed as I nodded.
“Maybe that’s why he’s so arrogant!” Jess said as she also nodded. “Having your pack members worship the ground that you walk on would do that to you.” Mom commented as she scooped up some mashed potatoes using her spoon and moved it to her mouth.
“God, this potatoes are to die for!” Mom added as she chewed on her food.
We laughed and nodded in agreement.
“Sweetie, I’ve been wanting to ask you this. Why did you break up with Alpha Jacob? Did he find another she–wolf and reject you?” Mom asked as she placed her hand on mine on the table gave me a comforting squeeze.
I shook my head, “It’s complicated, But no, he didn’t reject me. I’m the one that rejected him.”
They all gasped in shock.
“Why would you do that, Farrah?” Jess asked me as her mouth hung open in shock and disbelief.
“Yeah, why?” Mom asked me too.
Dad nodded as he added, “I also want to know what in the world.

would make you reject your mate.”
“li’s a long story. Not to mention how complicated it is.” I answered them.
1 didn’t want to tell them that he was cheating on me and prove how pathetic it was. Just saying it in my mind made me feel even more pathetic.
“Please tell us.” Jess pleaded as she pouted.
I sighed, “Just know that he hurt me really bad.”
Mom shook her head as she explained, “Sweetie, mates need to be forgiving and forgive each other whenever there’s a
misunderstanding.”
I shook my head too, “Well, we’re not mates anymore and it’s my decision to leave him. All he’s done is treat me like crap and the play the victim. You need to understand what I went through and stand by
- me.
“But that’s the thing, we have no idea what you went through.” Mom protested.
“And I’ll tell you with time.” I replied as I ran a hand through my dark hair.
“Don’t worry about him, Farrah. I’ll teach him a lesson.” Dad said as he patted my shoulder.
“No, Dad. You don’t have to do that. I’m over him and I’m sure that he’s over me too.” I said as I scooped up some fried rice and moved it to my mouth.
“Alright, fine since you don’t want that.” He replied as he chewed on
his food.
I swallowed my food as I nodded.
“And here I was thinking that he was a good guy, but it turns out that he’s not one.” Mom said as she stabbed her grilled salmon.
“I thought so too.” Jess commented and then grabbed her wine glass to drink some of her wine.

“I’m sure that you’ll find another mate that’s way better than Alpha Jacob, especially since you’re a Luna wolf!” Jess said in a comforting voice as she gave me a small smile.
I smiled back at her as I replied, “I really hope so.”
“Maybe you can even get Alpha Cameron as your mate.” Mom suggested as she grinned at me.
I blushed and shook my head, “There’s nothing like that between us. Besides, he would have asked me to be his mate before I met Jacob if he was interested in me.”
“A Mom can hope.” Mom said with a sigh.
Dad laughed, but he didn’t say anything on it and I was curious about what he thought of him.
Why did I even care? It wasn’t like a great Alpha like him would ever like an average Luna wolf like me.
