“Oh, I understand now.” Alpha Cameron replied then looked back at Jacob as he said, “You need to leave Alpha Jacob ‘cause she doesn’t want to go back with you. You need to accept that and move on.
Jacob’s face twisted into a scowl as he glared at Alpha Cameron,
“What gives you the right to tell me what to do regarding my mate, Alpha Cameron?!”
Alpha Cameron looked tense as a frown fell on his brows and he said,
“Well, as far as I know, she’s not your mate anymore!”
“She will be again soon enough! Just let us be!” He yelled as his hands clenched into fists.
“No, I won’t be!” I yelled back.
He turned to me as his scowl deepened, but then he turned back to Alpha Cameron as he said, “No, you leave! She doesn’t want you here, and as this pack’s Alpha, I don’t want you here either!”
“Then why don’t you make me leave?” Jacob growled at Alpha Cameron.
“Don’t you dare growl at me again, Alpha Jacob!” Alpha Cameron growled back at him.
The two of them looked about ready to fight, so I stood between the two of them and said, “You guys need to chill, and Jacob, you need to leave right now!”
“I told you that I’m not leaving without you!” He growled at me.
I growled back at him, “Well, you have to because I’m not going anywhere with you!”
“What’s going on here?” I heard Dad’s voice as he climbed out of his car and started towards us.
“Dad, what are you doing here?” I asked him as he stopped beside
- me.
He looked confused as a small frown fell on his brows, “Jessica hasn’t returned from work yet, so I decided to come pick you up instead of
you taking the taxi home.”
“You don’t have to worry about picking me up, it’s easier for me to take the taxi.” I said as I hugged his arm and added, “But thanks for coming, Dad! You’re so caring!”
He chuckled as he nodded, “I try my best to be as caring as possible.”
Dad moved his attention to Jacob as he said, “Alpha Jacob, I didn’t know that you were visiting. Are you here to see Farrah?”
Jacob nodded as he grinned at Dad, “Yeah, I’m here to see Farrah, but she doesn’t want to see me.
Dad turned to me as he asked, “What’s going on, Farrah? Why don’t you want to see him? I know that you two aren’t together anymore, but if he has something to say to you, just hear him out.”
“He just wants me to go back to the Red wolves pack with him, Dad. I answered him as shook my head at Jacob’s deception.
“No, I’ve changed my mind. I just want to talk now, Farrah. Please just hear me out.” He pleaded as he stared at me with pity in his
eyes.
“Hear him out, Farrah. You don’t have to go anywhere with him, but just hear what he has to say. He did come all the way here to say it to you.” Dad suggested as he looked between the two of us.
“Fine, I’ll hear him out.” I replied and a sigh escaped my lips.
Jacob looked delighted and his lips tugged up into a smug smile. He always acts like the victim to get what he wants, but I wasn’t falling for
that act.
Suddenly, we heard footsteps and we all turned in the direction to see Ashley walking out of the school through the school gate.
Ashley grinned when she saw me and ran up to me, “Hey! I’ve got exciting news for you!‘
I laughed at her excitement and replied, “I wonder what it is.”
Her gaze moved to the side and she saw Alpha Cameron, Dad and

Her gaze lingered on Jacob before she looked back at me. She looked freightened as she asked, “Is everything okay? Why is he here?”
“Don’t worry about it. Everything’s fine and he’s just here to talk. He’ll be leaving soon enough.” I answered here as I gave her a comforting smile.
She continued staring at him as if she was lost in thoughts, and I noticed that, I added, “Anyway, what’s the exciting news that you wanted to tell me?”
She moved her attention back to me as her smile returned and she answered me, “Well, Kelsey Brooks is having a house party tonight and she’s the coolest she–wolf on campus!”
“And?” I asked, expecting more.
“We’re invited!” She exclaimed as she pulled out two cards then handed one to me.
I took the card from her to see that it was an invitation card with K.B printed in the middle then the phone number and address printed.

“Ashley, that’s awesome!” I replied as I noticed Alpha Cameron and Dad talking as they walked to the side.
“I know, right? And I can even introduce you to a hot he–wolf there!” She exclaimed as her eyes filled with excitement.
It was like she forgot that Jacob was standing right there until he reacted.
Jacob growled and grunted at Ashley, “You can’t introduce her to another guy since I’m here mate!”
He turned to me as he added in a hard voice, “And you, you’re not allowed to go to this party!”
Ashley’s eyes widened in surprise, but she didn’t say anything.
I scoffed in disbelief and replied, “I’m going to that party because you can’t order me around. Besides, you’re not my mate anymore not my

“But I still count as your mate!” He yelled as he took a step towards

“No, you don’t!” I growled at him.
Seeing how angry I was, he sighed and said, “I’m sorry, Farrah. I’m not here to fight; I just want to talk.”
I glanced at Dad and saw him look at me then nod before looking back at Alpha Cameron as they continued talking.
