So I nodded at Jacob, “Fine, let’s talk.”
He glanced at Ashley, who was now looking nervous, as he said, “Can we talk somewhere private?”
I nodded, “Sure, let’s go into the woods.”
“Okay.” He replied as he looked back at me.
I turned to Ashley as I said, “I’ll see you later, okay?”
“Sure, I’ll come over so that we’ll go to the party together.” She replied as she smiled nervously at me.
“That’s too stressful for you. Why don’t I come to your house and we’ll go to the party from there since the party house is closer to yours?” I suggested as I noticed Jacob rolling his eyes at me.
What a jerk.
“Alright, see you at 9?” She asked as she waved at me.
“Yeah, see you then.” I replied as I waved back at her.
I turned around and started into the woods, not saying a single word to Jacob because I was so annoyed with him but I expected him to follow me, and he did.
“Alright, I think here’s private enough.” Jacob muttered as he stopped walking.
I turned around and nodded, “Okay. So what do you want to say to me?”
I looked around the woods and realized that we were only a few feet away from the school where we left Dad and Alpha Cameron.
My attention was pulled back to Jacob when I felt his stare on me, and 1 raised my brows in question, “Well? Aren’t you going to answer me? You’re the one that said that you wanted to talk.”
His lips tugged up into a smile as he murmured, “I’m sorry. It’s just that you’ve gotten so much more beautiful and I got caught looking at you.”

I scoffed as I replied, “Oh, save the sweet–talking for Lisa.”
He grimaced at the mention of his lover’s name and protested, “It’s true, Farrah, and you’re even wearing jewelry. You never wear this much jewelry for me even when we’re going out.
Jacob made sure to tell me that he didn’t like women wearing too much jewelry at the same time. It was either I wore only a bracelet or only earrings or a necklace, but I couldn’t wear them together.
Since that was what he preferred, I made sure to follow his preference, but now that I was wearing them all at the same time, he was acting like it was my preference not to wear them at the same time when we were home.
He always loved playing the victim just like the jerk he was.
I didn’t want to add to my stress by arguing, so I replied simply, “Well, uou didn’t say that you want me to wear more jewelry.”
“I didn’t have to say it. You should have known.” He argued as the toxic person he was.
I scoffed and crossed my arms against my chest as I replied, “I don’t care because we’re not mates anymore!”
“Don’t say that please, we can be mates again.” He murmured as desperation was evident in his eyes.
“Is this why you wanted to talk to me? I should have known that.” I muttered, shaking my head.
“Not exactly. I wanted to tell you how it’s been since you left me. I was depressed and longed to have you in my arms again, but you were too far away.
Beta Kyle ran the pack while I tried to get a hold of myself.
And it was just as he had told you. I shifted into my wolf form because my wolf and I missed you too much and we only felt better in wolf form.
However, I was almost stuck in wolf form because I stayed in wolf form for more than a week.

I tried shifting several, but it didn’t work. Lisa even tried motivating me with a motivational speech, but that didn’t work either.
It was only when I thought of you and being with you again that I was able to shift back to my human form

“Well, it doesn’t mean anything to me, Jacob. You need to stop being delusional and leave.” I muttered as I shook my head at him.
He shook his head too as he took my hands in his and held them,
“No, I’m not being delusional. Just think about it! We can be mates again, and there will be no more Lisa. I promise.”
I was swayed a bit as I thought about getting back together with him and not having to deal with him being all about Lisa.
However, Willow pulled me out of this delusion of his when she spoke up, “He can’t leave Lisa. He’ll always have her around even if he has to sneak around to do it. He’s just making up lies to get us back.”
“Yeah, you’re right, Willow. I won’t let him control me or my feelings!” I replied to her in my head.
I pulled my hands out of Jacob’s and replied to him, “I enjoy being away from you and I will probably find another mate here.”
He scoffed as a cold look took over his face, “Don’t tell me that you’re thinking of being with that know–it–all Alpha, Alpha Cameron! He’s too high and mighty, he’ll never go for someone like you.”
I felt insulted at his words. Besides, he was lying through his teeth; Alpha Cameron wasn’t a know–it–all nor was he arrogant. Jacob was just describing himself instead of Alpha Cameron!
“It’s none of your business whoever I’m thinking of being with, and Alpha Cameron is not high and mighty! He’s a humble and respectable Alpha who cares about his pack members more than you’ll ever do!” I defended my Alpha as I crossed my arms against my chest.
