“Farrah, 1-” Jacob started, but I cut him off.
“Maybe it’s because I wounded your ego when I rejected you, right? Why don’t we turn it around then? Maybe then you’ll accept that we’re over.” I said as I placed my hands on my hips.
“What do you mean?” He asked me with a confused look on his face.
“Reject me.” I said as I held my head up high.
A nervous look appeared on Jacob’s face and he fidgeted with hist fingers as he replied, “I’m not going to reject you, Farrah. I’ll never do that!”
“You have to! Isn’t that what you want?” I asked as a frown fell on my
-brows.
He shook his head, “No, I’m not refusing to accept that we’re over because I want to do the rejection.”
“Then why aren’t you accepting my rejection?” I asked him as frustration filled me.
“Because I still want you, Farrah.” He murmured as he stared into
my eyes.
I averted my eyes from his and said, “You need to either accept my rejection or reject me right now!”
He ran a hand down his face and replied, “I can’t! All I can do is think. and talk about you. I’m sure Beta Kyle told you all about it, but he didn’t tell you just how much I miss you. I missed you so much that I couldn’t even it properly, Farrah. I really care about you.”
“If you do then you would do what I say.” I muttered, feeling annoyed with him.

“I promise I will, but give me a chance to show you how I really feel about you. I miss dining with you and running with you.” murmured as he kept staring into my eyes, but I refused to look into his eyes.

I rolled my eyes as I replied, “Don’t you mean running with Lisa?” “What do you mean?” He asked me with a confused look on his face.
Wow! He deserved an academy award for his acting.
“Don’t play dumb! I saw you running with Lisa, and you know what running alone with another wolf of opposite gender means.” I
revealed.
Running alone with another wolf of opposite gender meant that the two had feelings for each other and want to become mates.
“Farrah, no, I swear it’s nothing like that.” He denied.
“Then what’s it like? And then I saw you dining with Lisa when you were supposed to be working at the pack office!” I added as I wondered just what kind of a man did I get mated to. I was glad that I rejected him.
Thinking back to the day I caught them having lunch together made. feel nauseous. I didn’t even want to remember how I had reacted.
“That’s just a formal lunch between the boss and his employee, nothing much to it.” He defended himself.
“Well, how about when I came home and found Lisa lying on your lap?” I asked him with raised brows, knowing that he couldn’t have had an excuse for this one.
I had returned from school and entered the Red wolves pack house only to find them in the living room with Lisa resting her head on his lap as they watched TV.
He had quickly pushed her off his lap and rushed to me to explain how she was having a headache and he was massaging her head.
Why would an Alpha do that for his Gamma?
It was obvious that there was something going on between them.
“I- I- It’s not what you think! I already told you how I was helping her get rid of her headache.” He lied again.

I couldn’t believe him! How could he lie so smoothly like that?
He was a good mate at first, but then Lisa came along and he changed. Instead of giving me gifts, he would give Lisa gifts, and instead of giving me his attention, Lisa would have all of it.
Willow groaned in my head, “Jacob changed for the worse and I doubt that he can change for the better now.”
“I doubt that too.” I replied with a sigh.
I moved my attention back to Jacob as I replied to him, “How is that an Alpha s duty? You could have told her to see a doctor at the pack hospital.”
He let out a defeated sigh, “I know. Look, I’m sorry, Farrah. I know I’ve not been a perfect mate, but I’m willing to become better.”
“I” I started, but he cut me off.
“You have to believe me, Farrah. I can become better.” He murmured as hope showed in his eyes.
“You need to understand what I’m saying to you. I’m not your mate anymore and I’ll never be your mate again.” I said in a clear and firm tone of voice.
“How can that be?! You have to want to be my mate! Do you have any idea how many she–wolves want to be my mate?!” He yelled as his brows raised in surprise.
“Well, I’m not like them because I’ve actually been mates to you and I know what it’s like being mates to you, and if so many she–wolves. want to be your mate, why don’t you go be with them then?!” I ranted as I ran a hand through my dark hair
He shook his head, “No, it’s not that I want to be with them. It’s just. that some other she–wolves have been suggesting that I take them as my mate.”
“You’re probably talking about Gamma Lisa, right?! Just take her as your mate already. We both know that’s what you really want.” I replied as I expected him to take the hint and leave.

“But you’re the one that I want as my mate.” He murmured with a desperate look in his eyes.
“Then how comes you’re all about Lisa? Why do you even want me back when you spend more time with Lisa than me when we were together? Or maybe you want me back because you want to have us both?” I questioned as I narrowed my eyes at him.
