Chapter 3
The next morning, I walked into the kitchen to get a quick breakfast when I saw Jacob frying an omelet.
There were three containers of noodles on top of the kitchen counter and he placed the omelet that he had fried into one of the containers.
“You’re cooking?!” I asked him as my eyes widened in surprise at the sight before me.
“Yeah, and this is for you.”
He muttered as he pushed one of the noodle containers towards me, but I refused to accept it..
“Sausages make me bloated. I’ve told you this before.” I said in a tight voice as I felt anger bubble inside my chest.
“I had no idea.” He replied with a frown on his brows.
“Even though I told you at least a hundred times in our six years of marriage?” I asked, feeling frustrated with him.
“Not a clue.” He answered me as his frown deepened.
“I’m always mentioning it. Anyway, why don’t you give me the noodles with the egg?” I suggested and stretched my hand towards the
container.
However, he grabbed it and pulled it out of my reach which made me frown.
I glanced at him, about to ask why he did that when he said in an icy tone of voice, “Since you don’t like sausages, don’t eat it, but you can’t have the one with the egg.”
He obviously made it for someone, special. Was that special person
Lisa?
He has never cooked for me before, yet he was here cooking up the perfect dish for another woman.
“Who did you make it for?” I couldn’t help, but ask as I dreaded what the answer would be.
Before he could answer, his phone started ringing. He pulled out his

phone and glanced at the screen.
His lips tugged up into a smile as he answered the call, “Hey.”
He listened to the caller’s reply before saying. “Just come over, and we’ll go together.”
He hung up after a few seconds and stared at the phone with a lovey dovey look on his face.
Who called him? Could it be Lisa? Deep down inside me, I knew it was her. He only acted like he was in love when she was around.
I pulled out the lingerie that I found in our bedroom from my handbag and handed it to him.
He took it from me with a guilty look on his face.
“Was it Lisa that left behind her lingerie?” I asked him in a cold.
voice.
“I–you- it’s not what it looks like.” He explained as he pushed it into his briefcase.
“Then what does it look like?” I asked, shaking my head in disbelief. Before he could reply, I added, “You know what, you don’t need to answer that. Just tell Lisa to be more mindful.”
“I’ll let her know.” He replied as his eyes bounced around the room nervously.
“Why don’t I drop you off at school today?” He suggested as he gave me a strained smile.
It was shocking to hear him suggest that because he has never driven me to school before. However, he always drove Lisa shopping.
I always go to school in a taxi and return home the same way.
What made him change his mind? Was he trying to kiss up to me because I caught him cheating red–handed?
“Are you sure you want to do that?” I asked to see what he would say.
“Yeah, of course. Are you surprised that I suggested driving you to school?” He asked me as his brows knitted in a frown.
Chapter 3
“Of course. You’ve never driven me to school before.” I replied as I crossed my arms against my chest.
“Well, I’m-” He started, but he cut himself off.
His expression softened and a faint smile touched his lips.
I wondered what he was smiling about because he never smiled at me unless it was a strained one.
My question was answered when he said, “Lisa is five blocks away. She just mind linked me and I have to go meet her.”
Couldn’t he let her come here and then they would go to work together, he had to go meet her?
I cleared my throat as he started towards the front door and asked,
“What about me? You said that you’ll drive me to school.”
He paused, but he didn’t turn around as he answered me, “Actually, I don’t have time to drive you to school today. Maybe tomorrow.”
I felt my heart tremble in pain. How could he make another woman a priority over me?
“Don’t you love me?” I asked him and watched as he grimaced like the aspect of loving me irritated him.
“Of course.” He replied curtly then glanced back at me as he added, “I need to go right now ‘cause I don’t want to keep Lisa waiting.”
“Sure.” I said in a whisper, knowing that he could hear me with his heightened werewolf hearing.
He bolted out of the house and with my heightened werewolf hearing, I heard him say, “Lisa, you’re so fast. How did you reach here so soon?”
“Oh, I just couldn’t wait to see you, so I jogged here.” I heard Lisa an
