Chapter 7
“Let’s go for a run. We haven’t gone in a while since every time you ask Jacob to go with you, he says he’s busy.” Willow muttered in an irritated tone of voice.
I could tell that he has been getting on her nerve for a while now. He has been getting on mine too, and I was glad that she felt the same way because I didn’t want her crying over him and his wolf.
“Sure.” I replied and started taking off my cream dress and wearing my expendable shorts and tank top.
The expendable clothes stay on even after we shift even though they turn invisible. They become visible again after we shift back into our human form.
They were made so that we wouldn’t shred our clothes or walk around naked after shifting back to our human form. We usually wore them under our clothes, but I didn’t get to do that today.
I felt a sense of calm as I made my way out of the bedroom. I couldn’t wait to run and get rid of my stress.
As soon as I was out of the pack house, I shifted into my white and black wolf.
The cool breeze brushed against my fur, making goosebumps form on my skin.
I couldn’t help, but howl as I felt happy to be running in wolf form.
Running in wolf form was such an important activity to werewolves, especially from the pack that I came from.
I ran faster into the woods beside the pack house, feeling giddy with excitement.
I heard a familiar howl which made me slow down and then I heard
two sets of howls.
As I looked around, my gaze landed on a black wolf and a coppery brown wolf.

I recognized the two wolves immediately. They were Jacob and Lisa.
My heart broke and I stopped running as I watched them circle each other and howl together.
After doing that for a while, they continued running.
I wanted to run after them and demand an explanation for their betrayal, but I stopped myself.
I was leaving anyway, so what was the point?
Tears filled my eyes and I tried to blink them back, but they dripped down my furry cheeks.
“Stop crying, Farrah. You’re better than them, and you’re going to find another mate. Just be patient, you’ll see what God will do for you.” Willow comforted me in my head.
Ishifted back to my human form and wiped the tears away as I replied, “Thanks, Willow. I’ll be patient.”
Ten minutes later, I was back in the pack house. I went straight up to our bedroom and had a shower before changing into my sleeping
gown.
The door opened as I was brushing my hair and turned around to see Jacob walking in.
His gaze moved to the empty dresser which I was standing in front of, then it moved to my suitcase that was standing in front of my chest of drawers.
His lips parted like he was going to speak, but then he pressed them. together.
I finished combing my hair and made my way to the bed to lie down. However, before I could lie down, Jacob spoke.
“The Alpha of the Grey Wolves pack has asked for my help in dealing with the rogue attacks that have been occuring in his pack.
The pack is in Mexico and I’ll be going with Gamma Lisa to meet with him. Do you want me to buy you anything from there?” Jacob asked as
he sat down on the bed beside me.

“Not a thing.” I muttered coldly.
Disbelief and anger were evident on his face as he ranted, “Are you angry about the noodles or is it because I didn’t give you the silver bracelet after you rejected it?”
Before I could reply, he added, “You’re my mate, you can’t be angry
with me.”
“Says the one that’s angry at his mate.” I retorted as I maintained a cool expression.
My words seemed to make him even more angry and he growled, “I’m trying to be a good mate, but you’re making it hard. Some Lunas don’t even have the luxury of getting gifts from their Alpha mate!”
“F**k this! I’m going to the balcony!” He yelled and rushed out of the bedroom.
I sighed, rubbing my temples as I thought of the amount of stress I was dealing with that day.
Jacob thought he was smart, but I was smarter.
The balcony was where we had our first kiss and it used to be special
to me.
Every time we had a fight, he would say that he was going to the balcony and I would follow him.
Once I got there, he would talk about how he felt when we had our first kiss and I would think that he loved me so much, so I would apologize to him and we would makeup.
He could die waiting for me on the balcony because I definitely wasn’t going to follow him there and apologize.
I have had enough of him, and I have decided to stop letting him control me.
He slept on the balcony that night.
I knew because I went to the balcony early in the morning to watch the sunrise like I usually did and I saw him sleeping on one of the chairs there.

I decided not to wake him up and walked back to our bedroom to get some more sleep before it was time to go to school.
When he didn’t come back to the bedroom the night before, thoughts
my head. of him and Lisa at the restaurant kept replaying in
I was heartbroken, hurt and angry, but I knew that I had to be strong. I couldn’t let them break me.
Just as sleep started pulling me into its hold, the door opened violently.
I glanced at the door to see Jacob walking into the room, and he looked like crap.
It must have been because he had slept on the balcony.
I tried not to laugh at him as he frowned.
He has gotten a taste of his own medicine.
Since Lisa took over as Gamma, he would stand me up whenever we were going on a date because Lisa needed help with something. But now, he was the one being stood up.
He waited for me to come to the balcony to apologize, but I didn’t, and he ended up falling asleep there.
“You’re good at baking cookies, bake me three batches before tomorrow!” Jacob ordered as if I was his slave.
I felt angry that he would talk to me that way and I was tempted to say no, but I didn’t want him to become suspicious of me and stop me from leaving.
“I’m going to school today, so I’m not sure I can bake three batches of cookies before tomorrow.” I muttered in a cool tone of voice.
I was a baker and I loved baking cookies for us on special occasions. I usually bake a lot and give them to his parents too.
However, I knew that these cookies couldn’t be for his parents since they have never asked me to bake for them before.
I also knew that it wasn’t because he was craving cookies since he

wanted me to make three batches.
Who was he going to give the cookies to?
He grunted, looking even more pissed off as he said, “Tomorrow is Saturday, so there’s no school. Can you bake them before 7:00 pm tomorrow?”
“Sure.” I replied as I sat up.
“How much do you need to buy the ingredients?” He asked me as his expression softened.
“I don’t know since I haven’t baked in a while and prices have probably gone up.” I answered him as I rubbed my eyes.
He pulled out a debit card from his pants pocket and handed it to me as he muttered, “Use this card to buy the ingredients. The pin is. 1010.”
I took the card from him and nodded, “Okay, I’ll go grocery shopping after I come back from school.”
He nodded too as I placed the card on the bedside table then laid back down.
I still wanted to catch some sleep before school starts.
When he saw me lying down, he frowned aa he said, “Why are you-”
He cut himself off when his phone started ringing.
He was about to pick up when the call cut and instead, the phone. beeped, indicating that a message came through.
His frown disappeared and his lips curled up into a smile.
“What were you going to say, Jacob?” I asked him curiously.
He glanced up at me and the frown was back on his brows. Did he hate me that much that just looking at me ruined his mood?
“Forget I said anything.” He muttered then looked back at the screen of his phone and the smile was back
He started typing as he made his way out of the bedroom.
He had told me not to text him when we first met because he didn’t
like texting, yet here he was replying to someone’s text.
It
was
probably Lisa. If not her, who could change his views and make
him smile like that?
