Chapter 9
“You’re here!” Lisa exclaimed as her smug smile widened.
Jacob sighed in irritation as he said, “I told you that you didn’t have to come.”
Lisa turned to him as she batted her eyelashes innocently, “Don’t blame her, I was the one that told her to come because I wanted more of her cookies. I’m sorry.
“You don’t have to apologize, dear. You’re not at fault.” He murmured as he tucked her hair behind her ear while staring into her eyes.
She stared back into his eyes as a smile touched her lips.
So they were now displaying their love for each other in front of me! How shameless!
I didn’t have time for their show of love, so I pulled out my transfer form from my handbag and handed it to Jacob.
“What’s this?” He asked me as a confused look shown on his face.
“It’s a transfer form. My classmate wants to transfer to another College and she needs recommendation from you, the Alpha of our pack. Please recommend her and sign it.” I explained, feeling anxiety. grip me at the thought of him refusing to do it.
A small frown fell on his brows as he asked, “Why does she want to change Colleges? And is she aware that changing Colleges means changing packs?”
I nodded, “Yes, she’s aware. That’s why she needs you to recommend her.”
“You haven’t answered my other question.” He muttered in ant irritated tone of voice.
“I don’t know. She hasn’t told me the reason she wants to transfer.” I replied as I noticed Lisa staring at me with a grimace on her face.
“Please just recommend her and sign it.” I whispered as I tried to hide. my frustration.

He nodded, still frowning and glanced at me, “Do you have a pen?”
“Yeah.” I answered as I pulled out my pen from my handbag.
I handed it to him and he grabbed it then proceeded to write the recommendation and the form without reading its contents.
A relieved sigh escaped my lips as he handed the transfer form back to
- me.
My suffering would finally come to an end! No more heartbreak. “Did you come here just for this?” He asked as he stared at me.
I nodded stiffly, not wanting to talk to him, “Yeah.”
A scowl made its way to his face and he glared at me, showing me how much he despised me.
Well, I felt the same way about him.
As I was about to turn around and leave, I heard Lisa say, “Wow! Your ring looks just like the one that Alpha Jacob used to wear. Is it like a promise ring or something?”
She was right, it was a promise ring which Jacob gave to me on the day that he marked me.
I noticed that she was staring at my right hand as she said that, and I glanced at his hands to see that it was just as she had said.
So he didn’t value our relationship anymore! Well, I didn’t value it anymore either!
“Yeah, it’s a promise ring and you can have mine. Maybe he’ll start wearing his again since you’re now the one wearing it.” I replied as I took the ring off and placed it in the palm of her hand.
Anger filled me, but I didn’t let it show.
I swiftly turned around and walked out of the guest room without waiting for her reply.
Just then, my phone started ringing, so I pulled it out of my handbag and looked at the screen.
It was my sister, Jessica, so I answered the call immediately, “Hey,

“Hi, Farrah! How are you doing, and how’s Jacob?” She asked in a soft tone of voice.
“I’m doing great. How are Mom and Dad?” I said, feeling my mood. brighten.
She didn’t say anything about my ignoring her question about Jacob, instead, she answered me, “They’re both doing good and they can’t wait for to come back. They said that you told them you’ll be returning soon, but you didn’t say exactly when you’ll be coming back.”
I sighed, “I can’t wait to come back too. I’ll be home either tomorrow. or next tomorrow depending on when I’ll be done with the College transfer.”
She didn’t ask why I was coming back and I didn’t want to tell her yet, so I didn’t say anything about it, but I knew that she wanted to know. She replied, “Alright, good luck on the transfer.”
“Thanks.” I replied just before she hung up.
As I was about to leave, I heard someone clear their throat. I looked around and saw Jacob standing behind me.
Did he hear my phone call?
“It’s already late, so let’s sleep here.” He muttered as he started. towards another room which I guessed was also a guest room.
“Why?” I asked him, but he ignored me.
My jaw clenched in anger, but I drew in a deep breath and let it out calm myself down.
I didn’t want us to fight due to my health, so I just followed him into the guest room.

Was Lisa sleeping here too? Was that why he wanted us to sleep over?
As I walked in, I saw him lying on the bed while typing on his phone.
He didn’t pay any attention to me and I went in the direction of the bathroom.
After I came out of the bathroom, I walked to the bed and lied down.
I heard the door open and close as I started drifting into sleep. I wanted to check who came in or went out, but I was too sleepy.
The next morning, my eyes fluttered open to see Jacob sitting beside me with a tray that contained a plate of fries and ketchup.
As soon as he saw that I was awake, he pushed the tray towards me,
“Here, I’ve made you a special breakfast.”
I was shocked that he did that since he stopped showering me with affection ever since Lisa became Gamma.
