Chapter Twelve
Tasha’s POV
I nodded, acknowledging his confidence in me. As I left Mr. Belvoir’s office, my mind was already racing. with plans and strategies for the upcoming fashion contest.
Normally the New York fashion scene was notoriously competitive, and this event was crucial. It was more than just a chance to showcase our designs; it was an opportunity to cement Belvoir Couture’s position as a leader in the industry.
I made my way back to my office, where my assistant, Claire, was already waiting with a stack of papers and a look of concern. “Everything okay, Ms. Taylor?” she asked, handing me the documents.
“Just a change of plans,” I said, glancing through the papers. “Mr. Belvoir canceled my meeting with Vivienne Steele. We need to focus on the fashion contest in New York.”
Claire nodded, her fingers flying over her keyboard as she started organizing the new priorities. “I’ll make sure the team is briefed. What’s the next step?”
“We need to finalize our designs and coordinate with the logistics team in New York,” I said, my mind already working through the details. “Also, start preparing the press releases and marketing materials. This event needs to be high–profile.”
Claire’s eyes widened slightly. “Got it. I’ll get on it right away.”
As I settled into my chair, my phone buzzed again. It was a message from Robbin. “How’s the day going? Thinking of you.”
A smile tugged at my lips. Robbin had been a constant support, and his messages always brought a bit of warmth to my busy days. I quickly typed a response, letting him know I was in the middle of a big project but looking forward to catching up for dinner later.
With a deep breath, I refocused on the task at hand. This was more than just another project; it was a chance to prove myself and secure Belvoir Couture’s success on a global stage. I immersed myself in the work, each decision and design bringing me one step closer to our goal.
As I flipped through the design sketches and event proposals, Claire stood by my desk, a thoughtful look on her face. “You know,” she started hesitantly, “if we’re really going all in for this contest, it’s going to be- a long haul.”
I looked up at her, knowing exactly what she meant. “Yeah, Mr. Belvoir did mention the long–term vision,” I replied, leaning back in my chair. “Opening a huge branch in New York is a massive step.”
Claire nodded, her expression serious. “This project could easily take up to a year, especially if we want everything to be perfect. Coordinating the contest is just the beginning. There’s scouting for the right. location, setting up a new team, marketing… It’s a lot.”
I sighed, feeling the weight of the commitment. “I know, but this is our chance to make a mark in the Industry. New York is where most of the top fashion houses are. If we can pull this off, it’ll be a game- changer for Belvoir Couture.”
“Agreed,” Claire said, her eyes lighting up. “But we’ll need to pace ourselves. There’s a lot to plan–finding the perfect venue, getting the right designers on board and of course, managing the logistics of opening

a whole new branch.”
“Exactly,” I replied. “We’ll need to assemble a team specifically for this project. We can’t risk taking away too much focus from our current operations here.”
Claire made a note on her tablet. “We should also start thinking about the PR strategy. We’ll need to create a buzz around the contest and the new branch. Maybe we could collaborate with some influencers in New York to build hype.”
I nodded, already envisioning the possibilities. “That’s a great idea. We need to create an image that’s both cutting–edge and exclusive. The contest will be the perfect launchpad.”
“Definitely,” Claire agreed. “And we’ll need to be prepared for the competition. The New York fashion scene is no joke. Everyone will be watching us closely.
I couldn’t help but feel a thrill of excitement at the challenge. “We’re ready for it,” I said confidently. We’ve been preparing for an opportunity like this for a long time. Now it’s about executing it flawlessly.”
Claire smiled. “I’ll start putting together a detailed timeline for the project. We’ll need to stay on top of every little detail to make this work.”
“Perfect,” I said. “Let’s make this happen.”
As Claire left my office to begin the preparations, I sat back and allowed myself a moment to process everything. This project was going to be a long and intense journey, but the potential it held was enormous. It was the kind of opportunity that could redefine my career and secure the future of Belvoir Couture on a global scale.
The office was buzzing with activity, and the pressure to deliver was palpable.
Claire and I met regularly to discuss the progress. She was working on the PR strategy, while I focused on finalizing the design elements and coordinating with potential designers. The workload was heavy, but the excitement was infectious.
Later that afternoon, as I was reviewing some of the final designs, Mr. Belvoir called me into his office. He looked as composed as ever, but there was a glint of excitement in his eyes.
“Tasha, please, have a seat,” he said, gesturing to the chair across from his desk.
I sat down, feeling a mix of anticipation and nervousness. “Yes, Mr. Belvoir?”
“I wanted to touch base on the upcoming contest,” he began. “Your work has been exemplary, and I’m confident we’re on the right track. However, there’s one more thing we need to discuss.”
I nodded, eager to hear more. “What’s that?”
“We’re bringing in a special guest for the event–a renowned fashion critic from Paris. I need you to prepare a detailed presentation on our latest collection and the overall vision for the New York branch. This critic’s opinion could greatly influence the success of the contest.”
I paused for a while. “Understood. When is the presentation scheduled for?”
“In three weeks,” Mr. Belvoir replied. “I trust you’ll handle it with the same dedication you’ve shown thus far.”
“Absolutely,” I said with a confident nod.

As I left his office, I realized the importance of this presentation. It wasn’t just about showcasing our designs; it was about demonstrating the future direction of Belvoir Couture and ensuring that the New York branch would set a new standard in the fashion industry.
Back at my desk, I immediately began organizing the presentation materials. Claire joined me, and we worked late into the evening to ensure everything was perfect. The stakes were high, this presentation could make or break the project.
I was finally done for the day, I headed home. As I walked through the door, Aunt Linda greeted me with a warm smile, “You’re back just in time, love. Dinner’s almost ready.”
Ethan came running in, his face lighting up when he saw me. “Mom! You’re home! Did you win at work today?”
I chuckled at his question. “Well, sort of. I think we’re on our way to a big win, sweetheart.”
“Brilliant!” Ethan exclaimed, his little accent as charming as ever. “you’re a winner, Mom!”
“Thanks, love,” I said, ruffling his hair. “And how was your day with Aunt Linda?”
“Oh, it was smashing!” he replied enthusiastically. “We went to the park, and I made a n a cool bike, and we played pirates!”

Aunt Linda laughed. “He’s been full of beans all day. I don’t know where he gets the energy from.”
Just then, the door opened, and Robbin walked in. Aunt Linda raised an eyebrow, grinning. “Look who’s here early for a change.”
Robbin smiled, taking off his coat. “Good thing I’m not missing dinner this time, right?”
“Indeed,” Aunt Linda replied. “It’s not often we get to eat together like this.”
We all sat down at the table, enjoying the meal Aunt Linda had prepared. The food was delicious as always, and it felt good to have everyone around the table, sharing stories and laughter.
After dinner, I decided it was time to share the good news. “I have some news,” I began, just as Robbin spoke up at the same time, “I’ve got news too.”
“Ooh, exciting!” Aunt Linda exclaimed, looking between us with a curious expression. “Alright, ladies first,” Robbin said with a playful smile, motioning for me to go ahead.
