“Oh,so this is how the Lawrence family conducts business. ” a dark and powerful voice suddenly reverberated in people’s ears sending shivers down their spines.
Bellamy Hunter had a meeting on the fourth floor of the same building Ariel and her brothers were in. He had just gone out to take a breather when he happened to see everything. From the moment Trevor approached Ariel for a challenge to when they signed the contract and conducted the competition. He was worried about Ariel. What if she got into an accident and hurt herself? These were the thoughts that kept running in Bellamy’s mind. When he saw her car return unscathed,he was inwardly surprised. Didn’t they say the only thing she knew was fighting and causing trouble? it seemed that she had many secrets. Bellamy found that intriguing. He was going to invite her over for dinner when he found Trevor trying to deny the fact that they had signed a contract not long ago when they were
about to race.
Hello Mr Bellamy,why are you here?” Trevor bowed in courtesy and asked fearfully.
“Why? can’t I be here?” Bellamy asked him back with an intimidating voice.
“No…no,that’s not what i meany.” Trevor fumbled while trying to explain.
“Oh?” Bellamy asked curiously.
“I mean you are welcome, it’s rare to have you around here. Go and bring a seat for Mr Bellamy “He pointed at one of his lackeys and instructed.
“No need,I won’t stay long. I’m here to see to it that she gets what she deserves. ” Bellamy said while pointing at Ariel with his chin.
“Oh,alright.” Trevor immediately asked for Ariel’s account number and transferred the money wholeheartedly.
“Alright, that’s all, you may leave.” Bellamy said to Trevor.
Trevor immediately took off with his lackeys. That was close. He was just about to go back on his word,who knew she had such a powerful backing? thank goodness he wasn’t as impulsive as he has always been.
“Thank you.” Ariel thanked Bellamy. Of course she recognised him. It was the man that was injured the previous night and she had helped him escape from the bad guys. She was thanking him because he spoke up for her. She didn’t like being indebted to people. She wondered why he suddenly showed up. Ariel wasn’t that weak so she was sure she could handle the renowned bully on her own but since someone showed up and handled it swiftly, it saved her from a lot of trouble so that’s why she chose to thank him.
“If you don’t mind,can I invite you to have dinner with me?” Bellamy asked her as gently as he could.
“I’m sorry but we have to rush home.” Ariel answered apologetically.
“What do you want from my sister?” The silent Aaron suddenly asked Bellamy while shielding his sister with his body.
“Alright,see you around.” Bellamy ignored Aaron’s probing,nodded at Ariek and turned to leave.
Aaron, whose question was unanswered, stomped his feet in annoyance and turned to look at Ariel accusingly. Ariel,who was suddenly glared at,touched her nose and smiled awkwardly.
“Let’s
go home sis.” Aaron said to her.
“Sure” Ariel answered and followed him.
When they arrived at home,everyone was fast asleep except Cliff’s,whose study was still with lights on. Aaron marched his way into the study and found Cliff almost wrapoingbup since he was closing the last file of the night so that he could go to bed.
“Bro,how are you?” Aaron asked Cliff enthusiastically.
“I’m fine where are you from this late?” Cliff asked softly. Since his brother was happy, he didn’t wish to make him sad so he was unusually accommodating and friendly.
“I’m telling you,today I went to pick our sister Ariel from school,so I decided to take her to play before we got back.” Aaron was still blabbering when a sharp glare suddenly shut him up. He realized his mistake,he didn’t tell the two of them that he was going to fetch their sister from school. How dare he?
“Bro,I’m sorry, I forgot to tell you guys. I’ll do that next timem” Aaron said apologetically.
“There’s no next time!” Cliff said fiercely.
“Yes yes,there’s no next time” Aaron played along to placate him.

“Then what happened? Cliff adjusted his tone to an amicable one.
“At first,we raced for fun,but then Ocean City’s renowned bully suddenly came to us and proposed a challenge to Ariel. Guess what, she took the challenge and even beat him. In the end,she even pocketed ten million dollars from Trevor just like that. She was so impressive I’m telling you brother!” Aaron praised Ariel endlessly. Cliff was also impressed but didn’t say that out loud. As expected of his kid sister. He marvelled inwardly. Ivy wad just about to go and check Ariel’s room and see if she was back when she passed by his brother’s study and overheard Aaron’s discussion with Cliff. She was so mad that her facial features were twisted. She decided to eavesdrop. The more she listened, the more she clenched her fists. Why was everything always about Ariel? Whether in school or at home? Whybwas everyone hell bent on caring for Ariel and not her?. Ivy was so engrossed in thought that she failed to detect the approaching footsteps. Suddenly;
“What are you doing here in the middle of the night huh?”
