CHAPTER 19: END TERM EXAMS
Amando returned to take his food with Ariel. He didn’t seem so focused. Instead, he appeared to be sitting on pins and needles. Ariel wondered why he was behaving as if he was uncomfortable.
“Brother, what’s wrong?” Ariel asked with concern. This was rare for Amando. He has never behaved that way around her so it gave her an unfamiliar feeling.
“Oh,first brother just called and ordered me to go back to the Hovstad Residence, he said he has given fifteen minutes, failure to which there will be repercussions.” Amand explained to Ariel in distress.
Ariel understood. No one else could scare the two young brothers in the Hovstad household except their first brother Cliff.
“Then let’s hurry up before he gets mad.” Ariel suggested.
“You are right.” Amando said and quickly stood up,not forgetting to pick the car keys.Ariel also wiped the corners of her mouth and followed him hurriedly. Within no time, they arrived at the Hovstad Residence and Amando immediately rushed to the study to meet his brother.
“Brother.” Amando said shakily while panting.
“Explain.” Cliff demanded. Amando immediately understood what he meant, he meant Ariel’s farce. Why he took that upon himself without asking for permission from them before proceeding with his plan.
“I’m really sorry brother, I really had no choice,it won’t happen again.” Amando said regretfully with his bowed guiltily.
“That better be the case. Cliff said,and by passed Amando and headed for the door. He slammed the door shut and stormed off. Cliff wondered what was wrong with his brothers,were they trying to compete on whom will win over Ariel or what? He really didn’t understand. Amando made sure he couldn’t hear the footsteps any more before going out. Ariel poked her head out of her room and asked Amando in concern;
“Are you okay brother?”
“I’m fine,he just scolded me a little,it was my fault this time so I deserve it.” Amando said with self blame.
“Do you want to eat Ice cream with me?” Ariel suddenly asked.
“Sure.” Amando’s eyes lit up. He didn’t even think twice before accepting the invitation. Ariel on the other hand,didn’t know how to placate people,and since he had read that Amando liked ice cream,she simply chose to treat him to it,if that could improve his sour mood. And just like that,they set off to a nearby creamy Inn and had as much ice cream as they could before going back. As expected, the ice cream did the truck,it brought back Amando’s jovial mood and Ariel felt accomplished.
Days flew by and the day of the end term examinations arrived. On the first day of the exam, Ivy woke up earlier than usual and let the chauffeur drive her alone to school. When Ariel woke up,the chauffeur was nowhere in sight but her brother Aaron was waiting for her in the living room. When he saw her,he grinned from ear
to ear.
“Sis, let’s go,I’ll take you to school today,” Aaron saud while casually picking up her backpack and marching his way toward the designated car. When they boarded the car,Aaron passed a can filled with milk tea to Ariel,and slices of bread that were spread with butter.
“I knew you didn’t take breakfast so I asked auntie in the kitchen to pack some for you.” Aaron explained while smiling.
“Thank you.” Ariel said and smiled warmly. She really wanted grateful for his thoughtfulness. It made her feel warm in her heart. She was grateful to him since he had taken greater measures to take care of her. She enjoyed the milk while Aaron drove. The scene was quite harmonious. And it gave off a very comfortable feeling. When they arrived at the gate of Anderson high school, Ariel got off. That was after a few nagging from Aaron who made sure that she had every item that was required during the exam period,?he also reminded her not to push herself too hard,that if the questions were too hard,she could as well leave it blank, since she had a backer now,who was himself. Ariel just chuckled and nodded. That day she was in a very good mood when she entered the class. She even took the initiative to say hi to the students in her class and wished them the best of luck in their exams. When she saw that Maya had brought her breakfast,she picked it up and put it in her locker. She smiled sweetly and thanked Maya,who was struck dumb by her smile.The reason she put the breakfast in the locker was because she’d just taken some while on her way to school and since she didn’t want to disappoint her best friend Maya,she kept it in the locker with the intention of having it during break time.
Ariel was assigned to a different class during the examination so she wasn’t in the sane class as Maya. When time indicated the start of the exam, Ariel entered the exam room and took the seat allocated to her. When she received the question paper,it was just as expected, everything they set,she’d already done that more than once so after forty minutes,everyone in the classroom was shocked to see Ariel handing in her paper.
“Student,please don’t hand in an unfinished paper because that will cause you to be penalises.” the invigilator kindly reminded her.
“Teacher,I’m dome,.” She said while pointing at her fully answered paper and shrugged indifferently.
“Okay.” the teacher said and took her paper
“Teacher,can i leave now?” Ariel asked again.

“Sure. the teacher excused her.
The students who saw this widened their eyes in shock,so that meant that she’d really answered the whole paper? With how difficult the paper was,how could she have already completed and handed in? When the teacher who had had excused her took a look at her paper,his jaw almost fell off, the steps she had written on the paper were all correct,was she really a human being? He was immensely stunned. He’d never come across such a student. When Ariel got out of class,she took the breakfast that Maya had brought and ate happily. When she was done,she decided to go home. Just when she came out,she saw a lowkey class car parked by the side,it honked the moment the owner saw her. She walked over.
“Get in,I’ll drive you home.” Bellamy suddenly got out and opened the door for her.
“Sorry to disturb you.” Ariel said and entered the car.
“It’s nothing.” Bellamy answered nonchalantly and signalled the chauffeur to drive.
“Have you eaten lunch yet?” Bellamy asked once again
“No.” Ariel shook her head and answered.
Bellamy gave the chauffeur an address and so in thirty minute’s time, Ariel found herself in a classy restaurant. Bellamy ordered the dishes for her. He kept putting food on her plate an whenever some grains of food accidentally spilled on her lips or around her mouth,he would always use a tissue to wiper them off. Ariel wasn’t well versed in romance and love but as far as all his actions from the day they met were, they just portrayed something different from what her brothers had for her. So she decided to hit the nail on the head.
“Hey mister,are you interested in me?”
