Chapter 14
Noelle
As if my parents inviting theinselves over to Lucian’s mansion it laul enough, I see Sebastian’s car driving towards the estate when I’m out in the garden looking for Lancian.
“Fucking hell..” I swear to myself. “What’s with all these clowns crawling out of the woodwork?”
I glare at the sports car, hoping it will blow up in a random explosion, but of course, that doesn’t happen. And, since Sebastian is Lucian’s brother, all of the guards let the car pass unil Sebastian parks it in the courtyard in front of the large
fountain.
I’m surprised to see him arriving alone. I had expected his cheating ass to bring his girlfriend with him, but nope, the bastard is entirely alone.
“Noelle!” he exclaims the second he sees me and even though I’m beginning to fall in love with Lucian, it still hurts to see Sebastian’s blue eyes and blonde hair.
This is the man who took me out on expensive dates and treated me like a normal person while every other pack member saw me as useless Omega.
Sebastian laughed at my jokes.
He gave me massages whenever my shoulders were hurting.
We spent a year together and I felt so safe with him.
But then he cheated on me, and I found out on my own wedding day–he is a cold–blooded bastard, and that’s what I need to remember. The mate bond meant nothing to his traitorous soul.
My pulse hammers against my neck as I suddenly remember how much I hate this man. There’s fire in my blood, and it spreads over my skin in the form of a blush when Sebastian dares to approach me.
“Stay back!” I growl. “I don’t want to talk to you, and if it’s your brother you’re looking for, then he isn’t with me. I’m actually searching for him myself.”
Sebastian stops in his tracks but doesn’t explode, no matter how many prayers I’m sending to the moon goddess right now, Why isn’t she listening to me? Shit, maybe praying to Zeus would be better. He could zap Sebastian and force him to go back to where he came from–hell
“Thanks, but I’m actually here for you,” he says.
“Oh?” I raise an eyebrow. “What brings the pleasure of a man–whore like yourself to my doorstep!”
Sebastian’s lips turn into a thin line, and I see a hint of anger in the way he holds up his body. But he quickly pushes it down and forces himself to remain calm.
“Look, I know we have history, and I’m sorry for how things turned out, but what I have to say is important.”
I roll my eyes. “Important, huh?”
“It’s about Lucian, your mate.”
Those words grow my suspicion. Is Sebastian here to sabotage my new relationship? Ha Jokes on him. Lucian and I already screwed each other, and I would be an idiot to let my ex–mate rum things for us. I might not be in love with Lucian yet, but his dick is the best one I’ve ever had.
Chapter 14
…I mean, it’s the only one Fve had the pleasure of getting acquaited with, but whatever.
My nostrils flare. “What about him?”
Sebastian looks around and steps closer with this expression that reminds me of high school when some girl was about to whisper a secret in your ear.
“I’m here to warn you about him.”
HA, the irony!
“I wish someone had warned me about you,” I mutter, which causes Sebastian’s lips to twitch with amusement. And that, in return, makes my heart skip a beat.
Ugh, can’t my old emotions for him just go away? This guy isn’t worth my time.
“Touché, Sebastian says, now standing just a few inches away from me, and damn, I had forgotten how tall he is. Looks like both the brothers are giants….
Still, I don’t let that get to me and glare up at him. “Well? What is it about your brother that you need to warn me about? The fact that he is nicer than you?”
“Nicer than me?” Sebastian blinks before a dark look crosses his handsome features. “Darling, Lucian isn’t nicer than me at all. In fact, I’m surprised you haven’t rejected him yet..considering his history.”
“His history!”
“Yes,” he doesn’t move a muscle in his face, which makes it incredibly hard to read him. “Hasn’t Lucian told you about Jurika?”
Jurika?”
“It was his first mate. Not goddess given, but claimed through his Alpha powers…” Sebastian studies my face, smirking, when he realizes I’ve never heard of this woman before. “Should I continue? Do you want to know more about her?”
I snort. “How do I know you’re not making shit up?”
“Because you can go ahead and ask Lucian about it after I’m done talking.”
Okay, so he might not be lying, but it’s obvious that Sebastian is here to shake things up. For what reason, I don’t know. What I do know, however, is that he can’t be trusted. This guy has his own agenda, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear about Lucian’s first mate.
“What happened to her?” I ask.
www
“She died,” Sebastian says, and although I’m shocked, I don’t let it show on my face. I think my ex–mate finds that disappointing, so he continues. “Jurika was claimed by Lucian but never accepted by his fairy side. You see, fated mates are even more important to fairies than they are to werewolves because a claimed mate or a chosen paffner can’t birth babies. with fairy blood.”
My eyes widen. “They can’t?”
“No, I’m actually not sure if every fated mate survives such an ordeal either,” he smiles wickedly. “You see, fairies and vampires both love human blood, but the difference is that fairies also love human meat. And in their eyes, werewolves taste exactly the same.”
My blood runs cold, knowing exactly where this is going without Sebastian having to tell me. “Oh my god…did the baby..“! gulp and fight back the bile. “Did the baby eat its own mother from the inside out?”

Chapter 14
Sebastian’s face turns grim.“Do you understand why I’m giving you a warning now, Noelle?”
“No, that part is a mystery… Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate you telling me this, but I can’t for the life of me understand why you’re doing it.”
“I’m warning you because even though you’re no longer my girl still care about you, Noelle.”
“Hard to believe…”
Sebastian shrugs his muscular shoulders. “You can think what you want, but trust me on this: Lucian is going to want an heir. It’s more important to him than having a mate. To tell you the truth, I bet he wouldn’t mind throwing away your life for a baby. My evil hybrid of a brother is probably already planning on having unprotected sex with you without even telling you the possible consequences.”
I turn to stone at those words, my heart thundering because I’ve already had unprotected sex with Lucian, and he never even mentioned Jurika
Could it be that Sebastian is actually right about this? Is Lucian truly so desperate for an heir that he would sacrifice me in the process? The thought sends a sharp pang of betrayal through me. I’ve trusted Lucian with not just my body but also my heart.
“Is there a way to…prevent it?” I ask hesitantly, my mind racing in a whirl of confusion and terror. “Something that can stop the baby from killing the mother?”
Sebastian’s eyes deepen in their intensity. “No, if you get pregnant with Lucian’s child, your only chance at survival would be to have an abortion.”
