Why do I act so weird around Lucian?
I’ve never been the kind of woman to act insecure or childish, but after seeing all the feminine products in Lucian’s guest bathroom, I got jealous.
“Stupid, stupid, stupid!” I scold myself before splashing water all over my face. Once I’m done, I meet my eyes in the bathroom mirror that hangs above the sink,
My reflection stares back at me, disheveled with anxiety etched into the tight lines of my face. Suddenly, I feel foolish. I shouldn’t be acting like this around Lucian, especially not since he is the reason I have a bed to sleep in. He is my hero, not
my enemy.
Suddenly, there’s a knock on the bathroom door, and an old female voice rings out, “Lady Noelle? Are you almost ready for your first meeting with the werewolf council? The elders are already here, and I have brought you some clothes.”
I realize its one of the maids and open the door to find a hunched woman, wrinkled skin and all, standing with a bundle of clothes in her arms.
“My name is Merida,” she says. “And these are the clothes Alpha Lucian has ordered me to give you. It seemed very important to him that you wear them.”
Thank you, I mumble awkwardly, taking the clothes from her hands. With a nod, she shuffles away, leaving me alone to stare down at the clothes.
It’s a white floral dress that brings my thoughts to warm summer days. The underwear is tasteful, a delicate lace in a matching hue. I am surprised at Lucian’s choice as it’s not too sexy, and the man is obviously a player.
Wait, what if Alpha Lucian thinks I’m not worthy of wearing sexy underwear? Does he even find me attractive underneath the mate bond?
My
insecurities keep bubbling up until I’m fully clothed and decide to just hit the meeting since my thoughts are leading nowhere. The moment I walk inside the big room and approach the oval–shaped table where Lucian is sitting, all pack elders on the werewolf council turn around to face me.
“Noelle,” Lucian purrs. “How nice of you to join us. Please take a seat.”
His voice is dripping with sarcasm, which sends my nerves into a frenzy. Couldn’t he be sweeter now that the pack elders are here to watch me, the Omega of the pack, attend an important meeting?
I glance at the others around the table, taking in their wary expressions. Some are skeptical, others curious, and a few are, openly hostile. It’s clear that my sudden appearance and relationship with Lucian is something they’re not entirely comfortable with.
I suppress my feelings and take the empty seat beside Lucian. As I sit down, the eyes of every wolf in the room are upon me. They watch silently, their predatory gazes analyzing my every move as if expecting me to do something wrong,
“Since everyone is here, let’s begin,” Lucian says before cracking his shoulders and plastering on a confident smile only an Alpha could give. “Ladies and gentlemen, I’ve gathered you here today because I have a big announcement to make. Noelle Willis, my brother’s ex–mate, is now my mate and the future Luna of the Midnight pack.”
Gasps and whispers ripple around the room.
“What?” someone snarls from across the table. “But she’s an Omega!”
Another growl, This is madness, Lucian!”
Lucian raises a hand with red eyes, and the room falls silent once more, probably frightened by the hybrid Alpha, who is close to showing his true colors.
“No one will speak ill about my mate,” he says. “Instead, I would like to hear how my project is coming along” his attention shifts to a werewolf with glasses. “Johnny, is our new training facility ready?”
Johnny, a lanky elder, adjusts his glasses nervously. “We are almost there, Lucian. There have been a few hitches with the construction workers, humans who don’t understand the urgency behind our task-”
I stop listening to the conversation since I feel something weird happening between my legs. The underwear Lucian gave me is slightly…vibrating, and my eyes widen
Oh no. Is this why it was so important I wear these clothes? Because Lucian enchanted them?!
My eyes fly to Lucian, who smirks at me while his pack cklers are talking. His face says it all: he planned this, and my eyes darken. That little-
The vibrations become stronger, and I clench my teeth, trying to suppress a gasp.
My face must have gone pale because Lucian leans towards me, his smirk growing wider as he whispers, “Something wrong, love?”
I grind my teeth together, unamused by his little joke. “You are so dead when this meeting’s over,” I whisper back to him, my eyes shooting daggers. “This isn’t funny.”
“Oh, I think it’s hilarious,” he says, grinning wider now.
I want to hit him, but the vibrations are growing stronger, making it incredibly hard for me to concentrate. I shift in my seat and try to get comfortable, but the pleasure makes a moan slip out from between my lips.
Immediately, all eyes are on me.
“Noelle?” Lucian’s voice is controlled, but I see the glimmer of amusement in his eyes. “Do you have something to add to the conversation?”
A hot flush floods my cheeks as I shake my head, hoping that no one will notice the tremor in my voice. “No, please continue,” I mutter, wishing that the floor would swallow me whole.
The meeting drones on, but my focus is still on my predicament Lucian is enjoying this immensely; I can tell by the way he occasionally glances over at me, a wicked grin playing on his lips
Without thinking, I stand up abruptly from my seat and announce, “Excuse me, I need to use the restroom.
The pack elders exchange glances before they all glare at me as if I’ve done something wrong. And, in the end, one of them clears their throat.
“Leaving the room during a pack meeting is forbidden. You should know this as the future Luna. To think you would even consider such a thing…” An elder grumbles, his eyes narrowed in suspicion.
A murmur of agreement sweeps through the room, and I feel my cheeks growing hotter. My underwear is still vibrating. and I’m getting close to a climax.
But this isn’t the time.
I fight off the feeling, but since I’m not speaking, another mean pack elder takes the word.
“What were you thinking taking this this Omega into the meeting! She clearly isn’t mentally stable to be sitting there,

“I would have to agree!” another one says before looking me over with disgust in their old eyes. “That girl isn’t a future Luna She is a walking disaster and must suffer from ADHD since she can’t seem to sit still. Why would you mate with her, Lucian?”
Before I can defend myself, Lucian stands up. “Thke that back!” he growls.
“What?” the elder asks with a raised eyebrow, “The ADHD part? Because I would be lying if I claimed your mate was at normal and well–behaved lady suited to become
The elder makes a sudden choking sound, and I freeze in my scat when he is lifted off the ground by an invisible force. Lucian is glaring at him, so it must be his fairy powers, but he doesn’t seem to be in control of them.
His face is dark, and his eyes are glowing red. He’s also gripping the table so tightly that I can hear the wood groaning under the pressure.
“You will speak with respect to Luna Noelle, Lucian practically roars, veins throbbing in his neck and forehead. “It doesn’t
er that she is an Omega at the moment. You will respect her!”
The elder’s face is rapidly turning purple, yet he doesn’t want to surrender and chokes out, “She is…still…unworthy_of becoming…Luna!”
Lucian’s flash red and that’s when another pack elder approaches him, placing their hand on his shoulder. “Lucian, this isn’t the way to-”
“Enough!” Lucian barks, causing his powers to go haywire and lift up every single elder from their seats.
Fear trickles down my spine. Every pack elder struggles to breathe, and my instincts tell me to run since Lucian is no longer himself. Black veins cover most of his otherwise perfect skin, and he is larger than a normal man. It’s obvious he is about to shape–shift into his man–cating fairy form, and the best thing to do would probably be to run.
Yet I don’t.
Lucian is my mate, and something inside of me tells me to stay, to help him regain control so no pack elder has to die by his hands today. So, despite my terror, I reach out for his shoulder.
“Lucian-”
He snaps at me the moment I touch him, causing me to reel back while his feral eyes glare into mine.
“Stay back, Noelle!” he snarls.
I flinch from the intensity of his reaction, my heart hammering inside of my chest. More of him has changed, and I know I don’t have much time. How the heck do I calm him down?!
