CHAPTER 16
After spending some time at the clinic, I decided to return to my room in order to think of the next step. I couldn’t just sit and wait for the seer to return. I needed to do something, even though I wasn’t sure of what it was or how, I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t redundant so I made my way back to the mansion.
On my way back, I noticed there was a secufle at the entrance. A lilack car was parked at the gate, one that seemed a bit familiar to me but I couldn’t place it. The security guard was probably trying to stop the car owner from entering but it looked like the person wasn’t having it. It wasn’t until the security moved to the other side that I was finally able to catch a glimpse of who was at the gate.
Alpha Luca
He was with his beta whom I didn’t know his name and Melissa, the maid that had been assigned to me back in the Darkwater pack.
“What’s going on here?” I inquired as I approached them. From the look of things, it was apparent the guard wasn’t going to let them in so the best thing was to step in.
“Inis Luca called and my lips curved into a small smile.
“Alpha Luca. Hi Melissa, Hi Beta, I greeted before turning to the guard

They’re trying to force their way in,” he replied and I lifted my brows
“What do YOU
mean by that? You’re the one trying to stop us from entering even after we told you we’re here to see Iris, the beta said as his face morphed into a frown.
“We don’t allow strangers in our estate.”
“Well, they’re not strangers. They’re my friends, I told him and he shook his head.
“Most especially them, the Alpha already warned not to let them in
My brows furrowed.
“And why would he say that?”
“Because they were exiled from the pack a long time ago. It’s still a miracle that they’re still alive,” that awful familiar voice came from behind me and Itook a glance at Devlin who smirked then she eyed Alpha Luca and the others. I knew Alpha Luca and every other members of the Darkwater pack had been banished from the Moonstone pack but I still didn’t know why. What could be the reason? Why were they all thrown out? Could it be related to why Darkwater pack harbours vengeance or why Alpha Luca and Alpha Dawn hated each other
“And who the hell are you?” Alpha Luca asked in a belligerent tone and Devlin let out a scoff
“I’m not surprised you can’t remember me. Anyway, I’m Devlin, she introduced with a smug smirk on her face and I rolled my eyes before turning to the security.
“Please, let them in,” I told him and he stared at me with wide eyes like I’d just said the most forbidden thing
“Are you trying to flout the Alpha’s orders?” Devlin asked in a tone of disbelief.
“They’re my guests. They’re here for me, I reminded her and she scoffed.

“They’re are forbidden from getting close to cuir estate,”
1 ignored her and faced the security.
“Open the gate for them.” I ordered and he gripped the key in his hand like he wasn’t ever going to let them go.
“That’s not going to happen. Who are you to disobey the Alphasorders?”
“Tm the Luna,” I replied. Where did that come from? I couldn’t believe I just said that. Devlin’s face morphed into a frown before she let out a huff.
“You must think you’re really something”
“Well, I am. Open that gate now!” I shouted and the guard flincheil
“I need to call the Alpha. He needs to know what’s happening. I can’t believe this!” She huffed before storming off and I turned to the security who murmured before opening the gate and Alpha Luca flashed me a smile before stepping in while his beta and Melissa returned to the car and drove it into the estate.
Soon. I led them to the mansion’s living room and we all settled down.
“I never expected you’ll come here,” I started while the Luca’s eyes dashed around the room.
“This place has changed a lot,” he pointed out and I lifted my brows. From what I remember, only the Alpha’s family were allowed in the mansion, other than that, the attending maids or maybe someone like Devlin so which one was Alpha Luca?
You’re familiar with the mansion?” I asked and he chuckled.
“More than you can imagine,” he replied with an edge in his tone. What could he be referring to? Is there something I should know?
“Anyway, I wanted to check on you. I wanted to be sure Dawn kept to his end of the deal. I needed to know you weren’t deceived into being a slave again,” he said and I smiled.
Thanks for your concern. I wasn’t really deceived as you can see
He bobbed his head.
“So…” He cleared his throat before continuing. “Have you gotten the divine powers? Are the pack members okay now?” He asked and a sigh escaped from my lips before I shook my head.
“Not yet. Everyone expected me to have gotten it last night at the mating ceremony but it didn’t happen. I’m actually worried,” I confided in him and he gently placed his palm on my hand, that little touch sent ripples through my body.
A clap from the other end and I quickly moved my hand away.
“Awwn, look at this. It’s only been a day since your marriage and you’re already cheating.” Devlin’s stupid voice came from the entrance as she strolled into the house.
“Stop saying rubbish.”
“Oh, I’m blind? You think I didn’t see the way Luca was caressing you? You think I didn’t see the pleasure in your eyes?” She accused and I stared at her in surprise. She was definitely exaggerating the whole thing. It was only a reassuring touch and

“That’s preposterous,” Luca said, interrupting my thoughts and Devlin let out a scoff.
“It isn’t. We both understand the consequences for dishonesty. I am certain that if Iris is unaware, then you, Luca, are certainly aware. The unforgettable scene must still linger in your memory,” she inquired, her smile laced with mockery.

causing Luca to clench his fist. In a blink of an eye, he sprang to his feet and grabbed Devlin’s arm.

“Don’t you ever mention that scene with your filthy mouth!” He warned, his fingers dipping hard into Devlin’s skin that I feared it would cause a gash. Apparently, she’d pulled his wrong button but I didn’t understand why. Judging from how affected Luca was, I could guess it was somehow related to their banishment but how?
“You’re hurting me,” Devlin whined while trying to wriggle out of his grip but instead, his grip tightened on her.
“Alpha Luca.” I called. He took a glance at me before letting go of her abruptly, causing Devlin to fall on the ground then he walked back to the couch and took his scat.
The Alpha will hear of this. I promise you, Iris will be no more by tomorrow,” Devlin threatened as she got on her feet. I dashed her a scowl and she glowered at me,
“You’ll be dead by tomorrow,” she concluded with an evil laughter before storming off. What the hell was that?
