CHAPTER 4

My best days yet.

Three days since I arrived at the darkwater pack by chance or by fate and I could confess that it’s been the best part of my life after the death of my mom. I was treated nicely, welcomed with open arms by everyone, treated with respect and kindness. The way they all bowed to me felt surreal, it was as if was their savior; the one they’d been waiting for all these years and their acts and attitudes always reminded me of Alpha Luca’s words when we first met.

He’d refused to elaborate on his comment about me being the one they’d been waiting for and the one who would bring end to evil and that left me all curious. Instead, he’d spoken more on me being his mate. He claimed he was my second chance mate but I didn’t really feel that connection like I felt with Alpha Dawn. But with everything going on, I was ready to believe I was his mate. I was ready to settle where they wanted, needed and loved me. I was ready to stay where they treated me like I was one of them even though it’s only been three days.

Alpha Luca was entirely different from Dawn. He was like the perfect choice. He possessed every quality a mate should have. He certainly was nothing like I imagined a rogue Alpha would be He treated me with kindness and respect, though there was always that undercurrent of danger, that edge I couldnt ignore.

How was I supposed to feel about Alpha Luca? Was I supposed to embrace him as my mate, as my future? The smart thing would be to accept him as my mate but then, there was still something lurking at the back of my mind. Sometimes I felt like he was only doing it because I was important to their pack and didn’t want to be used only to end up being discarded later

on.

Though I wasn’t aware of what importance I brought, this rogue pack was just a dream come true. I’d come to learn that they’d all been banished and punished by the Moonstone pack and the belief that everyone thrown into the forest was false. Turns out, they all became members of the darkwater park which had been established by Alpha Luca’s family and it seemed like everyone of them harbored resentment towards Moonstone pack

As the vineyard is to the Moonstone pack so is the farm to the Darkwater pack so, why wouldn’t I help since there were some similarities between both and I had gotten used to it. Even though Darkwater estate wasn’t as huge and wide as Moonstone, it was still homely and working on their farm was much more interesting than the vineyard probably because I wasn’t made to do everyone’s dirty job and everyone here seemed so excited and passionate about the farm. They weren’t slaves but rather workers who loved their jobs.
