Chapter 13
The room got super awkward as the doctors and nurses awkwardly put down the kids and coughed. “Uh, yeah, we better get back to work. You guys can keep chatting.“
When it was just Ashley, Eric, and the two kids left in the office, Eric put the lunch down and motioned for the two kids. “Dig in, guys.”
The kids glanced at Ashley, seeing she was cool with it, and quietly shuffled over to start chowing down.
Worry crept into Ashley’s mind. Eric seemed too friendly with the kids, and then it hit her: Eric wasn’t clueless. He’d easily figure out her return as Alice Garcia, especially with these two kids around,

The memory of Eric’s cold rejection of her pregnancy five years ago still haunted Ashley, sealing their fate. But what was he after now? 1 out they hadn’t kicked the bucket, would he harm them to avenge Olivia’s child?
Ashley sneered inwardly as she shot him a glare and raised her eyes. “Mr. Anderson, anything else we need to discuss? I don’t appreciate being stared at while eating. If you’ve got something else to do, please go ahead.”

“He bought these?” Ashley was shocked.
Hearing the kids confirm, Ashley’s nerves kicked in. Eric wasn’t one to miss a beat. Even a small hint could set off alarm bells. If he noticed she had the same castes as Ashley, things could get messy.
As Ashley’s mind raced with worry, Tristan had already whisked Olivia home and was swinging by to pick up Eric from the hospital entrance.
Eric pulled out two baggies from his pocket, discreetly grabbing hair samples from the kids while they were in the restaurant earlier. He handed them to Tristan, setting the deadline firmly, “I need the result as soon as possible.”
At home, Olivia was unsettled by the thought of Dr. Garcia, such a dead ringer for Ashley. Plus, she felt the doctor’s hostility, not like with a regular stranger. But if that woman was really Ashley, why the stealth mode? Was she out for payback, trying to snag Eric back?

Seeing her daughter on edge, Emma Carcis came over, all worried, her voice dripping with concern. “What’s wrong? Is it about those hospital test
