The hospital buzzed with excitement because of Alice’s arrival the next day.
“Hey, our hospital hit the jackpot! Having Dr. Garcia on board is a huge deal.”
“I heard Dr. Garcia isn’t just a pro but also a knockout. Can’t wait to see her in person.”
Amidst the chatter, Olivia scoffed at the idea of anyone rivaling her beauty. She was the queen of Willowmere’s social scene. To her, this doctor must be just an ordinary person who had somehow managed to finagle her way in. Suddenly, the hospital fell silent. Olivia’s eyes snapped to the entrance and locked onto someone–Ashley! No mistaking it, that was Ashley,
Eric frowned with hostility as he spotted Ashley at the door. What is she doing back here, daring to show her face?”
Before he could react, Olivia lunged to slap Ashley, but her hand was caught Ashley tightened her grip on Olivia’s wrist as their eyes locked, asking, “What do you think you’re doing?”
Olivia sneered, “Ashley, you bitch, what the hell are you doing here? Eric warned you to stay away from Willowmere. Are you begging for trouble!” With a cold stare, Ashley loosened her grip, causing Olivia, in her high heels, to stumble and fall to the ground.
Olivia turned to Eric, desperation in her voice. “Eric, look at her. Five years ago, she made me miscarry, and now she’s trying to hurt me again. Haven’t I suffered enough because of her? No child, and now sick, almost dying”
Eric’s expression darkened as he strode forward. “Ashley!” he growled, his gaze piercing. “Who said you could come back?”
Ashley smirked inwardly. Eric’s bon had kept me away from Willowmere for years. Back then, I had struggled to survive while pregnant, living under a bridge with no one to turn to. But now, do they still see me as that same Ashley? Composing herself, she replied calmly, “I don’t understand what you’re implying
At that moment, Noah and the other staff hurried over. Sensing the tension, Noah stepped in to break the ice. “Mr. Anderson, this is Dr. Garcia who’s in charge of Ms. Garcia’s case”
Olivia froze, her face pale. “What?”
Though confused, Noah tried to clarify for Ashley. This might be a misunderstanding. Dr. Garcia is a top expert we brought in from overseas. She just returned after studying abroad.”
Eric turned to the woman in question, his brows furrowing in doubt. Despite the uncanny resemblance, their demeanors are worlds apart. Ashley has always been timid around him, barely speaking up. But this Dr. Garcia, dressed sharply, looks confident and assertive.
Ashley replied with a blank expression, “Hello, I’m Alice Garcia. I have no idea who this Ashley you’re talking about is,”
