Olivia said, “I don’t want to find another man. You don’t have to worry about me anymore.”
Nancy instantly became furious. “You don’t get to say that. You better think about your mom’s situation.”
At these words, Olivia’s face darkened. She said with a sharp voice, “If you dare to touch my mother, I’ll fight you with all I’ve got. Try me.”
Then, she hung up the phone.
She returned to the bathroom, using foundation to conceal the kiss marks on her neck, then changed into a high–necked shirt and put on her work clothes.
Olivia went to the company.
She sat at her desk, feeling dazed and absent–minded.
“Olivia, why didn’t you come back yesterday afternoon? You didn’t even ask for a leave. Angela was furious,” Jillian whispered in her ear.
At these words, Olivia was startled.
She quickly stood up and said, “I’ll go ask for leave right away.”
She walked over to Angela Stephens, but Angela didn’t even look at her, just slammed the documents in her hand on the table.
“Olivia, you’ve only been here for a few days, and you dare to skip work without permission? Do you think having Mr. Oliver backing you up means you can disregard the company’s policies?” Angela said angrily.
Olivia stood in place, lowered her head, bit her lip tightly, and remained silent.
Angela asked, “Did you finish sorting out the files Dawn sent you yesterday afternoon?”
“No,” Olivia replied earnestly.
Upon hearing this, Angela became even angrier. She stood up abruptly, her face full of displeasure. “Why can’t you even handle such a simple task? Is it true that you graduated from a prestigious university? Maybe your resume is fake after all.”
Angela’s voice was loud, attracting the attention of those around them.
Olivia’s face turned pale in an instant, and she didn’t want to explain anymore.
Angela said coldly, “Forget it. Go to the HR department and resign.”
Dawn interjected, “Angela, you’re too kind–hearted. It’s not good to just dismiss her. Letting her resign voluntarily won’t leave any stains on her record.” Olivia’s eyes instantly turned red.
She had lost the job she had worked so hard to find.
She suppressed her tears, turned around expressionlessly, and walked straight to the door.
Olivia emerged from the finance department and went straight to the HR department.
Coincidentally, Oliver was discussing something with the head of the HR department, Shannon. When he saw Olivia, he couldn’t help but pause.
After Oliver looked at Olivia, he noticed her reddened eyes. He couldn’t help but worry. “Olivia, what’s wrong?”
Olivia took a deep breath. To avoid revealing any abnormalities to Oliver, she said, “It’s nothing, I’m here to see Ms. Larson.”
Shannon smiled faintly and ushered the two into her office.
“Miss Hall, have you been adjusting well in the finance department these past few days?” Shannon asked.
Olivia took another deep breath and said, “I’m sorry, Ms. Larson, but I’m here to resign.”
Shannon was taken aback and felt a bit puzzled.
She looked over at Oliver.
Oliver, with concern, asked hurriedly, “What’s wrong? Olivia, has someone been bullying you?”
Olivia remained silent for a long time.
Suddenly, Oliver spoke again. “Speak up.”
However, Olivia quickly shook her head.
Seeing her like this, Oliver immediately became anxious. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her out.
He took her to the finance department upstairs.
Seeing this, everyone looked at the two in confusion.
“Get your department head out here,” Oliver ordered while looking at Angela.
“Mr. Oliver, our department head isn’t here today,” Angela said tremblingly.
As soon as she finished speaking, Conrad walked over. “What’s going on? I’m a few minutes late today. Why did you say I am not here.” Seeing this, Angela quickly explained, “Conrad, I didn’t mean to lie.”
Conrad glanced at her but didn’t say anything.
He walked up to Oliver and asked, “Mr. Oliver, what’s going on? Why are you so angry?”

Oliver said, “Pull up the surveillance footage from the finance department. I want to see how the finance department is treating its intern.”
Upon hearing this, Conrad couldn’t help but break into a cold sweat. He quickly ordered someone to retrieve the surveillance footage.
However, accessing the surveillance footage required Alex’s consent.
After going through various procedures, the request reached Alex’s hands.
Alex rushed to the finance department with his assistant, Milo.
Upon arriving, he saw the two figures in front of him.
Oliver was reprimanding someone with a displeased expression while holding Olivia’s hand intimately. The two appeared very close.
This scene was particularly glaring in Alex’s eyes.
Oliver said, “Alex, they are bullying Olivia. What do you think we should do about it?”
He couldn’t conceal his anger.
Alex scanned everyone’s faces, causing everyone to hold their breath.
Olivia subconsciously withdrew her hand from Oliver’s, lowering her gaze without saying a word.
Alex asked, “Miss Hall, is someone bullying you?”
His tall figure approached, his strong aura making her feel suffocated for a moment.
Olivia took a deep breath and said, “No.”
She gently closed her eyes, afraid to look at the sour expression on Alex’s face, feeling a bitter taste rising in her heart.
Olivia understood that Alex didn’t want her to cause trouble for him, nor did he want to acknowledge their unusual relationship.
“Miss Hall said no one is bullying her.” With a cold gaze, Alex looked at Oliver and said indifferently, “Are you done messing around here?”
Upon hearing this, Oliver took a deep breath, not daring to retort, but still feeling aggrieved in his heart.
Seeing this, Conrad quickly came over to mediate with a smile. “It’s just a misunderstanding. The new intern didn’t do her job well and was criticized by her team leader. Then, she ran to complain to Mr. Oliver…”
At these words, everyone’s eyes turned towards them, their expressions suggesting they were enjoying the spectacle.
They couldn’t help but speculate about the relationship between Oliver and Olivia.
However, Oliver’s expression instantly changed. He retorted, “Don’t spread rumors. Olivia didn’t come to me to complain. You can check the surveillance footage if you don’t believe me.”
Olivia didn’t know what to say.
Alex’s face turned extremely ugly, and he said coldly, “It’s unnecessary to access surveillance footage for the sake of an intern.”
Oliver was almost driven crazy. He couldn’t bear to see Olivia being bullied.
Olivia felt a pang of pain in her heart. She wondered what exactly she meant to Alex.
She thought, ‘Alex is just too heartless. He knew I was forced to skip work yesterday afternoon…‘
“Miss Hall, our company has no place for idle people. If you want to stay, you need to show some results. If you can’t handle it, pack your bags and leave. Additionally, the company doesn’t allow office romances. You need to mind your actions.”
Alex’s expression was extremely terrifying.
He didn’t even spare Olivia a sympathetic glance before directly leaving with his assistant.
Olivia’s body trembled violently, her face pale, as she bit her lower lip hard.
She thought, ‘I never wanted to be involved in an office romance. It was Oliver who came after me!‘
