Chapter 24 What if You Married a Man
Olivia hesitated for a moment.
She knew Alex would ask her about it. She could only tell the truth, “My stepmother set me on a date with him and forced me to meet him.”
“A date?” Alex frowned.
He was well aware of the intentions of the Hall family.
They separated Olivia and Oliver and had Rosa marry into the Adams family because they eventually wanted Rosa to be associated with Alex.
“I see,” Alex responded and then asked, “Do you have to listen to them?”
Olivia raised her eyes and said, “My mother needs treatment in the hospital. Nancy colluded with the vice dean of the hospital and threatened me.”
She forced a smile.
But this smile turned out uglier than a crying face.
Olivia had no other option. For her mother’s sake, she couldn’t resist.
Alex asked again, “What if they make you marry a man?”
“I don’t know.” Olivia bit her lip.
After a moment, she said, “When I have to get married, let’s terminate our agreement.”
Hearing this, a sense of inexplicable annoyance surged in Alex’s heart.
“Why didn’t you tell me about these things?” He asked.
Olivia replied, “We are only together because of a contract. I don’t want to trouble you.”
At her words, Alex was momentarily stunned.
He had encountered countless people, but when he heard Olivia say such things, he was still deeply touched.
He hugged her and pulled her into his embrace, his voice low, “Since you’re with me now, you have to tell me if you run into any trouble. There’s nothing that I can’t handle.”
Olivia’s eyes were red, and she willingly leaned against Alex’s shoulder. The feeling of relying on someone felt very special to her.
Even if this was only temporary, it could make her tired heart relax for now.
“Thank you,” Olivia said softly.
As soon as her words fell, Alex couldn’t help but curl his lips. “In a few days, I’ll arrange for your mother to be transferred to another hospital. Olivia, as long as you stay obediently by my side, I want you to feel safe and not threatened by anyone.”
Olivia nodded heavily, reaching out to hug Alex’s waist. She nestled her head on his chest while feeling his breath.
The next day, Olivia got up, washed up quickly, and went downstairs.
As soon as she reached the bottom of the stairs, Ruby said to her, “Miss Hall, Mr. Adams instructed you to change into the most beautiful dress before attending the engagement banquet.”
Olivia was startled by this news.
She couldn’t quite figure out what Alex wanted to do.
Olivia said to her, “Ruby, is that necessary? I am not the one getting engaged today.”
She could completely imagine the hateful expression on Rosa’s face when she saw her in a beautiful dress.
Ruby said, “These evening gowns were designed by a designer according to your figure. There are ten in total. You can choose any one you like.”
Olivia still wanted to decline, but Ruby said again, “Miss Hall, this is what Mr. Adams ordered.”
Helpless, Olivia chose a cream–colored long dress and walked towards the fitting room.
Soon, Olivia changed into the dress and came out, spinning around like a fairy.
“So beautiful, let’s go with this one.” Ruby sincerely admired.
After that, she brought out a few pieces of jewelry and placed them in front of Olivia. “Miss Hall, I think this pearl necklace matches your dress very well. Please try
it on.”
“Okay.”
As Olivia finished speaking, Ruby brought out a pair of high heels, “Miss Hall, these are the shoes Mr. Adams prepared for you.”
Olivia lowered her eyes and saw Ruby holding a pair of cream–colored high heels.
The shoes were adorned with some diamonds, obviously not cheap.
Olivia hesitated as she looked at the high heels, “I can’t wear such high heels. Can I have a different pair?”
Her phone suddenly rang.
Olivia answered the phone, and heard Rosa’s provocative voice from the other end, “Olivia, why haven’t you come yet? Are you chickening out?”
Olivia’s face changed slightly. She said in a clear voice, “Don’t worry, I will definitely come to congratulate you.”
Chapter 24 What if You Married a Man
After changing her clothes, Olivia left. The driver took her directly to the Empire Hotel.
Sitting in the back seat, Olivia held a red invitation with the names of the two written on it.
If it weren’t for Rosa’s interference, she would have been the protagonist today.
Thinking of this, Olivia’s face twitched.
The car soon arrived at the hotel entrance. When Olivia got out of the car, she ran into Grace.
Grace held Olivia’s hand and whispered, “Olivia, you look so beautiful today.”
Olivia smiled shyly.
Ned Hunt and Sydney Hunt also walked over, with Peter following behind them.
“Dad, Mom, I’ll go in with Olivia first,” Grace said to her parents.
Ned looked at them and nodded. “Go ahead.”
After the two left, Peter couldn’t help but sneer coldly.
“Peter, is that the girl that Mr. Tres’s mistress?” Ned’s eyes were shrewd as he asked in a deep voice.
“Yeah,” Peter responded and walked inside.
In the lobby, many guests soon arrived.
Grace pulled Olivia to a corner, where the two girls sat chatting.
“Olivia, is this evening gown custom–ordered by Mr. Tres for you?” Grace whispered.
“Yeah,” Olivia replied, then sighed helplessly, “I originally didn’t want to wear it.”
Grace asked, “Did Mr. Tres make you attend the engagement banquet?”
Olivia was taken aback, “How did you know?”
Grace’s gaze fell on Olivia’s face and said meaningfully, “Mr. Tres must like you.”
Olivia was speechless for a moment, then said, “Grace, stop joking. You know very well what my relationship with him is…” Grace smiled and didn’t continue joking. She pointed to Rosa and Oliver not far away, the two of them were entertaining guests.
Ted and Nancy were also chatting and laughing next to them, creating a peaceful atmosphere.
“Olivia, you’re here too.” Ted walked over in a black suit, his lips curled with a smile.
Olivia sensed a hint of malice in his eyes.
Unable to help herself, Olivia rolled her eyes, “What’s up? If there’s nothing, stay away from me.”
Her tone was cold.
Ted couldn’t help but say, “Olivia, I’m still your big brother. Why do you always speak to me like this?”
His gaze was fixed on Olivia, who looked stunning in this dress, making it difficult for him to take his eyes off her face.
Olivia tumed her face away and refused to look at him.
Grace frowned, “I warn you, leave now, or I’ll call someone.”
Grace knew very well that Ted had been harassing Olivia since high school.
Ted felt unwilling, but he knew that he couldn’t act recklessly in this situation..
He could only turn around and leave.
At this moment, Rosa and Oliver walked over.
Oliver was instantly captivated by Olivia’s beauty.
Olivia wore a cream–colored long dress, with delicate features, and the soft lighting added a touch of elegance to her…
