Chapter 27 Isn’t It Too Early for This?
“I understand,” Olivia said. However, she felt wronged since she didn’t know the man from earlier.
After a moment of contemplation, Olivia said, “Mr. Tres, I just met Mr. Madron.”
At this, Alex narrowed his eyes. “But he said you two are friends.”
Olivia hesitated.
She thought, ‘Why is he not letting this go?‘
“I’m not his friend,” Olivia said somewhat helplessly.
Alex’s stern expression softened slightly, then he smirked.
The car soon arrived at the hospital.
As they got out of the car, a row of medical experts was waiting at the entrance.
Olivia couldn’t help but feel speechless.
She thought, ‘I am not that sick, why are they so serious about this?‘
The head doctor saw Alex and hurriedly said, “Mr. Adams, welcome.”
Then, he had someone take Olivia to the emergency room.
The doctor quickly examined her, and then said, “You have caught a cold from getting caught in the rain and have a fever. You just need to take some medicine.” Upon hearing this, Olivia looked at the doctor and asked, “Do I not need an injection?”
“No, you don’t need one.” Then, he added, “Miss Hall, try not to have anything too cold recently.”
“Thank you, doctor,” Olivia said quickly, her face blushing again.
At this point, Milo had already brought Olivia’s medicine back.
Olivia said to Alex, “Mr. Tres, I want to go see my mom.”
Alex had arranged for Haley to be placed in the private hospital of the Adams family. Olivia believed that even if Nancy tried, she wouldn’t be able to have any influence here.
Alex’s gaze fell on Olivia’s face. “You’re still running a fever. Go home first.”
His tone was cold, indifferent, with a hint of determination.
Olivia looked up at Alex. “Mr. Tres, are you angry again?”
Alex ignored her and took off his coat before draping it over her. His expression was grim as he said, “Go change into dry clothes.”
He thought, ‘Your clothes are soaked. Why do you never take care of yourself?‘
Alex couldn’t help but frown.
“Okay,” Olivia quickly responded.
With Alex’s coat draped over her, she instantly felt less cold.
At the Flowery Villa.
Olivia had just gotten out of the car when Alex instructed, “Ruby, prepare a bowl of chicken noodle soup and send it to Miss Hall’s room.”
Soon, Ruby brought Olivia the soup.
She curled up in bed, having taken fever–reducing medicine already, but her forehead was still warm.
After finishing the soup, Olivia asked, “Has he left?”
“Mr. Adams has already left,” Ruby replied.
Upon hearing this, Olivia breathed a sigh of relief.
At the Adams villa.
As Alex walked in, he saw many people packing things up.
“Mr. Tres, Mr. Oliver is moving out. He asked us to pack his luggage,” the butler reported quickly.
Upon hearing this, Alex’s expression turned serious. It seemed Oliver was throwing a tantrum after finding out about the relationship between him and Olivia.
“Where is he moving to?” Alex asked.
“He seems to be moving to a villa in the south of the city,” the butler reported while instructing the servants to load the boxes into the car.
“Okay,” Alex responded, then called Oliver.
Oliver didn’t pick it up.
Alex walked into the villa with long strides, finding it unusually empty.
Previously, when Oliver lived here with him, it didn’t seem too bad. Now, with only him left, he suddenly felt a bit lonely.
Chapter 27 Isn’t It Too Early for This?
“Mr. Tres, do you have any instructions?” Milo asked respectfully.
“Call the HR department and inform them to arrange for Rosa to work at Adams Corporation,” Alex said sternly.
“Understood, I’ll do it right away,” Milo replied, then went out to make the call.
At the Hall villa.
Rosa was packing her things. She was moving out to live with Oliver.
Nancy looked at her, full of pity, and said, “Rosa, life is going to be different for you after you move out. You need to take care of yourself and try to have a peaceful life with Oliver.”
In Nancy’s eyes, Oliver was the most important.
As long as they could make Oliver happy, she and her daughter could have a good life in the future.
Rosa nodded and said, “Mom, I know. It was hard enough for me to get engaged to Oliver. I’ll hold onto him tightly.”
Alex had always been alone. He never wanted to get married and have children.
Now that she had married into the Adams family, all of its property would naturally belong to her and Oliver in the future.
Rosa’s mind was filled with calculation.
Nancy affectionately patted her head. She felt she had already become one of the most powerful ladies in Kingsley.
Ted watched the two of them from afar and couldn’t help but sneer.
“Nancy, we’re leaving,” Oliver said before leading Rosa away.
Suddenly, Nancy said, “Oliver, wait. I have a few words to say to Rosa.”
Oliver paused and released Rosa’s hand.
Nancy whispered in Rosa’s ear, “Rosa, try to get pregnant as soon as possible and have a child. Then you can live worry–free in the future.”
Rosa blushed and nodded.
Then she walked towards Oliver, and the two got into the car and left.
Ted walked up to Nancy and said, “Mom, did you plan to set up Rosa with Oliver long ago?”
Nancy’s expression soured slightly, then she said displeased, “How could Olivia be worthy of Oliver?”
Ted smirked. He thought, ‘If she knew that Olivia had now hooked up with Mr. Tres, she would probably be frightened out of her wits.‘
He looked at Nancy and then said, “Mom, do you know who Olivia has hooked up with?”
Nancy looked disdainful. “I don’t care who she hooks up with. The most urgent thing now is to marry her off as soon as possible. We can’t allow Oliver to keep having false hopes about her.”
There was a hint of ruthlessness in Nancy’s eyes.
*****
Ted didn’t say anything further and went straight to the company.
Rosa was hugging Oliver tightly, looking at him with tender eyes.
“Rosa, don’t hug me so tightly,” Oliver pushed her away as he said helplessly.
But Rosa said, “I love you too much. I just want to hold you tightly.”
As she spoke, she leaned over and kissed him on the cheek.
Oliver’s expression changed slightly, feeling a bit repelled.
He really wasn’t used to Rosa being so proactive.
But Rosa didn’t notice his mood and said, “Oliver, shall we have a child?”
Her voice was soft as she nestled in his arms.
At her words, Oliver frowned. “Isn’t it too early for this? We’re still young, and you’ve just graduated from university. Don’t you want to have a career first instead of becoming a mother right away?”
Rosa was startled by his words.
་
She knew that Oliver liked ambitious girls.
“Of course not. I definitely want to work hard,” she said while smiling at Oliver.
Suddenly, Rosa’s phone rang.
She took out her phone and answered the call.
“Is this Miss Rosa Hall? Our company would like to invite you to work with us. Are you interested?”
Rosa replied directly, “Sorry, I’ve already found a job.”
“We are from the Adams Corporation. Since you have found a job, we won’t waste your time,” the caller said before ending the call.
Chapter 28 But They Did
Upon hearing this, Rosa was surprised and quickly said, “Wait, I would like to take your offer. I’ll report to Adams Corporation tomorrow.” She couldn’t hide her joy on her face.
After the call ended, she hugged Oliver again and said, “Oliver, it’s great! Adams Corporation just called and offered me a job.”
Oliver paused slightly at her words, then said, “Alex probably arranged that.”
However, he couldn’t understand why Alex would do this.
“My Oliviater also works at Adams Corporation, so I can see her there too,” Rosa said with a smile.
But secretly, she thought she finally had a chance to monitor Olivia and Oliver.
Oliver said, “Then you two need to get along.”
Rosa said, “I know.”
Although she said so, Oliver was still very worried.
The two moved to a villa in the south of the city to start a new life.
*****
The next day, feeling that her body had almost recovered, Olivia went back to work.
Milo drove her while Olivia sat in the back seat. She pondered for a moment before asking, “Milo, did Mr. Adams ask you to drive me?”
Milo confirmed. “Yes. Miss Hall, is your body fully recovered? Do you need another day off? I can call the HR department for you.”
Olivia instantly said, “No need, thank you, Milo.”
She looked much better than yesterday, perhaps because of her illness, her complexion was still a bit pale.
Milo withdrew his gaze and sighed softly.
He couldn’t understand why Mr. Adams didn’t allow him to intervene even after he reported that someone in the company was deliberating giving Olivia a hard
time.
But he could feel that Alex cared about Olivia.
The car soon arrived near Adams Corporation.
Olivia got out of the car and walked into the company.
She went straight to the finance department on the second floor and returned to her workstation.
Suddenly, Angela clapped her hands and said, “Can I please have everyone’s attention? We have a new addition to the team today.”
At this, Olivia looked up and saw Rosa. She was stunned.
Rosa smiled at everyone and said, “Hello, everyone. My name is Rosa Hall. I hope to get along with everyone in the future.”
She was wearing a beautiful light blue dress, exquisite makeup, and expensive jewelry.
Rosa didn’t look like she was here to work. It was more like she was flaunting her wealth.
“She’s really beautiful,” someone in the crowd couldn’t help but say.
Some male colleagues seemed to have their eyes glued to Rosa.
Rosa smiled slightly, looked at everyone, and suddenly her gaze fell on Olivia, full of provocation.
She added, “Oliver Adams is my fiancé. We’re getting married soon, and I hope everyone can attend our wedding.”
Everyone instantly understood her.
They realized that Rosa was a part of the Adams family. People began to wonder why she came to work at the financial department.
Jillian glanced at Olivia and whispered, “So she’s Mr. Oliver’s fiancée. Isn’t she too high–profile?”
Olivia didn’t say anything. She knew Rosa was someone who always liked to be ostentatious, to show off, and to be adored by everyone. Jillian asked, “Olivia, you two share the same last name. What a coincidence.”
Olivia didn’t say anything.
She didn’t know what to say.
Suddenly, Rosa walked in Olivia’s direction. She went to the workstation opposite her and sat down.
Rosa leaned in close to Olivia’s ear and whispered, “Olivia, are you an official employee yet?”
Hearing this, Olivia’s face darkened, and she said displeasedly, “What do you mean?”
Rosa rolled her eyes and whispered, “Olivia, I just want to say that you will always be beneath me and never be able to turn things around.” With that, she returned to her seat.
Dawn immediately ran over to flatter her, and the two quickly became familiar, chatting and laughing.
Jillian asked Olivia secretly, “Olivia, what did she just say to you?”
