Chapter 30 How Can You?
Upon hearing this, Olivia was speechless to the extreme.
She shook off Oliver’s arm and frowned. “Are you crazy? Why would I want to retaliate against you? Is it because Rosa slept with you?”
Olivia looked at him disdainfully and continued, “I don’t even consider her as my sister. You can’t hurt me.”
Olivia’s eyes were red as she screamed.
Only she knew how much pain she suffered in the past.
Oliver looked full of guilt while feeling deeply conflicted. But when he learned that Olivia was with Alex, he couldn’t accept it. He felt like he was going crazy.
He said, “Olivia, Alex is ten years older than you. It’s not appropriate for you to be together.”
Olivia looked at him and said, “I don’t care about what’s appropriate or not. I want money.”
At her words, Oliver felt a pang of discomfort in his heart. He couldn’t believe Olivia would say such things.
She used to be so kind and so independent.
Oliver suddenly asked, “Olivia, are you really that short of money? Is it true that anyone can sleep with you if they pay you?”
****
Oliver couldn’t restrain himself anymore and hugged Olivia tightly into his arms. He asked with a choked voice, “Can I sleep with you if I pay you?”
Upon hearing this, Olivia trembled involuntarily and felt a dull pain in her heart.
She raised her hand and slapped Oliver hard. “Oliver, have you gone crazy?”
She could allow anyone to insult her except him.
He used to be the man she loved, and she couldn’t allow him to insult her.
Oliver’s face stung from the slap, however, he didn’t want to dodge it.
He said, “I must be crazy. I’ve been driven crazy by you.”
In their hearts, they were no longer the people they used to be.
The beautiful memories they once shared would never return.
After Rosa ran over, she saw Oliver being slapped. She frowned and asked. “Olivia, how can you hit him?”
Oliver grabbed Rosa’s hand and left without a word.
He left decisively, not even sparing a glance at Olivia.
Olivia stood rooted to the spot while staring blankly ahead. After a while, she slowly crouched down and started to cry.
Oliver, the man who once warmed her heart, was gone.
A few minutes later, Milo approached Olivia. “Miss Hall, Mr. Adams asked me to take you back to Flowery Villa.”
“Thank you.” Olivia wiped away her tears and got into the car.
Milo drove her home.
Throughout the journey, Olivia kept looking out the window, and neither of them spoke.
When they arrived at the house, Olivia felt uneasy. She called Grace and asked her to come over and keep her company.
Grace arrived soon after and hugged Olivia. She sensed that something was wrong and asked, “Olivia, what’s wrong?”
Olivia couldn’t control her emotions any longer, and tears streamed down her cheeks.
Grace immediately said, “Everything is going to be alright. I’ll stay over tonight to keep you company.”
Seeing Olivia like this, Grace couldn’t bear it and started crying too.
Outside the door, Ruby heard the two girls crying but said nothing. She quietly left with the food she had prepared.
After a while, Olivia felt hungry.
Luckily, Grace had brought a lot of snacks, and as they ate, Olivia’s heartache eased a bit.
“Olivia, tomorrow is the weekend. Let’s go out right now and entertain ourselves.”
Grace took out her phone and checked her bank balance. “I received a salary of a thousand dollars last month, which should be enough for us to have a bit of fun.” Olivia asked, “Didn’t you intern at the Hunt Group?”
The smile faded from Grace’s face, and she shook her head gently. “No, my mom was worried that my brother might have objections, so she didn’t let me join the Hunt Group.”
Olivia understood the implication and took out some cash from her bag. “Let me treat you to karaoke.”
Grace said, “No need, I have money.”
The two of them smiled at each other.
The next day, after breakfast, the two girls prepared to go out.
Chapter 30 How Can You?
Since neither of them could drive, Grace took Olivia to the Hunt villa.
Approaching the garage, Grace politely asked, “Bruno, I need to go out. Could you arrange a car for me?”
The butler, Bruno Hunt, looked up at her and said, “Miss, it’s really unfortunate. The drivers are all out today. Mr. Peter is about to leave. Let him take you.”
As he spoke, Peter walked over with the car keys.
His face was cold, with a slight smirk on his lips.
This expression was nothing new to Grace.
Since her first visit to the Hunt family, Peter always wore this expression.
“Peter, can you take us to downtown?” Grace asked softly.
She didn’t know why, but she always felt afraid whenever she saw Peter.
She was prepared to be rejected.
Peter said, “Okay.”
Grace was taken aback by Peter’s agreement. She quickly pulled Olivia into the car.
Soon, the car slowly left.
“Where to?” Peter asked coldly before turning his head.
“Just bring us to the commercial street in downtown,” Grace said hastily, “Thank you, brother.”
When Peter heard the word “brother,” his eyes flashed, but he quickly looked away, gripping the steering wheel tightly.
Olivia sat awkwardly in the car with her hands on her knees. The atmosphere inside the car was somewhat tense and eerily quiet. Suddenly, a ringtone broke the silence.
Olivia quickly picked up her phone.
“Where are you?” came the deep voice of Alex from the other end of the line.
“Getting ready to go shopping,” Olivia replied truthfully.
Grace’s face lit up with excitement after she heard Alex’s voice.
“Who are you with?” Alex asked again.
Olivia replied, “Grace Hunt.”
Alex asked again, “Is there any man with you?”
Olivia raised her head and looked at Peter, who was driving. She pondered how to answer Alex’s question.
“Who are you with?” Alex repeated the question.
Peter clearly heard the voice from the phone, and his expression darkened slightly.
“Olivia, don’t force me to come and get you,” Alex’s voice came coldly.
“Peter is next to me. He’s driving us downtown,” Olivia hurriedly explained. She was genuinely afraid that Alex would come and bring her home. After a moment of silence, Alex hung up.
The car soon arrived downtown, and the two got out.
They went directly to the Empire Mall.
Grace held Olivia’s hand and asked softly, “Why are you so afraid of Mr. Tres?”
Olivia didn’t hesitate to answer, “Because he’s scary.”
She lowered her head and shivered involuntarily as she recalled the look of Alex.
Hearing this, Grace sighed softly. “My brother is usually cold too, so I’m afraid of him.”
The two quickly entered a shop, intending to buy foundation, and coincidentally ran into Rosa and Dawn.
