Chapter 13
Bacquelles audacity far exceeded my expectations. I never imagined she would go to such lengths for Vernon, giving away a 25 percent discount. That meant practically handing over cash to
him.
Vernon really was something else. He had managed to charm her completely. Money seemed to flow into his pockets so easily.
Racquelle was truly foolish in this matter. However, if I were to review this contract and she signed it, I would be the first to be held accountable. Since she decided to go forward with it, she should be the one to sign
I handed the contract to her secretary and spoke calmly despite her puzzled expression. “I can’t sign this contract”
Without waiting for a response, I turned and walked away.
“What?” My reaction book Reyna aback. She held the contract, unsure whether to follow me, She watched helplessly as I left and then called Bacquelle
“Ms. Smith, Mr. Smith refuses to sign the latest supplier collaboration agreement. What should I do? Okay. He is in the storage room now. I’ll keep an eye on him until you return!
After hanging up. Rayna watched me like a hawk I felt uncomfortable under her gaze and returned to the storage room to continue reviewing the contract.
Half an hour later, Racquelle returned
She called me into her office coldly and began to scold me angrily, “Joshua, you really have some nerve! How dare you dare reject a contract i drafted! Who gave you the audacity to do this?
I looked at her calmly and shook my head. “Ms. Smith, I won’t sign it. If you have objections, you can either sign it yourself or have Dad review it to see if there’s any need to proceed with this contract.”
“Are you threatening me?” Her face immediately turned cold at my words. Her teeth clenched in anger, and she glared at me with fury-
“No, I’m merely stating the facts,” I responded coolly, but she seemed displeased with my answer
She suddenly pulled out a cigarette and wayed her hand at me. “Why are you sitting so far away? Come cover and sit down
I moved closer to her and sat down
Racquelle looked at me mockingly. “Pour me a cup of coffee.”
I picked up the cup on the table, acting – like her servant, and headed straight for the pantry.
Facing the employees‘ unabashell gares, I returned with a cup of coffer.
She took a sip and immediately splashed it in my face
“This coffee is so cold. How am I supposed to drink this? Can you even make coffre properly?”
I remained calin, ready to wipe my Lace clean, when she tapped the cup with her finger, ging me, “What are you waiting for? Make me a new one!”
I had no time to clean the coffee from my face, so I took the cup and brewed another cup.
After she sipped the new coffee, she caressly smashed the cup at my feet. “This is Were you trying to burn me on purpose? Go make me another one!”
