Chapter 95
The trial started on a Thursday and I was sitting in the back of the courtroom, listening to the opening statements. It was surreal nose that it was happening. Manily was sitting behind Simon, quietly sobbing into a handkerchief and now and again she stared daggers at use. I didn’t care. I had given Simon enough opportunities to do the right thing, to not end up here. When his defence attorney gave his opening statement and started talking about how my son had been seduced by a criminal and how his only crime was to be a little naïve and in love, I was about to jump to my feet and deck him. But I knew I would cause more harm to the process, end up in jail and possibly make Simon’s case for him, if I did. So I sat in silence, sending the attorney killing looks and trying to think of Hana to calm myself down. I knew Hana was held somewhere in the court building, in case she needed to testify today. She would be in a separate room, like the rest of the witnesses, until she had testified and both sides determined she had answered all their questions. For her, it was now only a waiting game until she needed to take the stand. The prosecution first witness was a forensic accountant. He wasn’t as good as Laurence, but he was a good witness. The amount of evidence he had found meant they didn’t get to the cross examination before the judge called for the case to be adjourned for the next day. I sighed and got up. Hana had insisted she should come over and stay with me tonight, I was grateful for it. Even if we couldn’t talk about the trial, she and Cuildles were just the distraction I needed. Hana had been let out early and had tested me that she would be waiting in her apartment until I was done for the day. I sent her a text as I drove from the courthouse and she stood waiting with Cuddles in his cage as I pulled up in front of her apartment.
“Hi,” she said as she put Cuddles into the back seat and then joined me up front.
“Hi,” I told her and leaned in to get a kiss. She didn’t ask me how my day had been, it was probably obvious. She just took my hand and held it in between hers as we drove to my place. “I think we should order in today,” I said. I had been good at keeping food in my apartment even now when I lived alone again. Maybe not to the extent as when Hana lived with me, but I usually had things to make dinner and breakfast.
“I have that sorted,” she told me as I got Cuddles from the back seat and took Hana’s hand in my free one. I looked at her as we rode the elevator.
“Jason was worried about you, he is picking up dinner and will be here in about half an hour,” she said,
“You have been conspiring behind my back?” I asked, amused.
“Kind of. He knew if he asked you, you would tell him you were fine and he didn’t need to come. So he did the only smart thing and asked me.” I had to smile.
“Thank you” I said.
“You are welcome. You look after me and I look after you,” she told me. We let cuddles out as soon as we got into the apartment and he made a beeline to the couch. He had his favourite spot on it and he knew if he hurried to get there first, we wouldn’t move him, I smiled and put his carrier where it always stood. It was funny how quickly the cat had become a part of my life. I even missed him when he wasn’t here. Hana had walked over to the fridge to deposit something inside. No doubt some tasty baked goods as she knew Jason would be coming over. I walked over to her and wrapped my arms around her from behind and enjoyed the closeness to her.
“I can call Jason and ask him to be half an hour late, he won’t mind,” I suggested. She giggled and turned around and wrapped her arms around me.
“I like your enthusiasm. But when we get started, I don’t want to limit myself to half an hour. If you’ll be patient, I’ll make sure you won’t regret it,” she told me. I felt myself grow painfully hard in seconds,
“That little speech didn’t have the desired effect,” I told her and pulled her closer. She giggled again and gave me a quick kiss.
“Says who? I think I have got you exactly where I want you,” she told me as she detangled from my arms as the alarm alerted us to someone in the elevator. “Come on up, lason,” she said to the speaker as she accepted the request. lason had brought Indian food and we all sat down at the dining room table. We talked about the new clients that lason was onboarding and about Hana’s latest catering gig. Her business had taken off and it was nice listening to how excited she was. Jason and E cleared the table as Hana took her surprise out of the fridge. It was small cups filled with Panna cotta and berry compote and some crunchy things on top.
“I’m going to have mine in the bath. You can have yours while you talk. I made extra for you,” she told us and gave me a kiss.
“You don’t need to do that,” I said. I knew she was giving me and Jason space so I could talk about the trial.
“I know, But I need a bath after sitting on an uncomfortable chair all day, and you need to talk. I will be down in an hour or so,” she insisted and took her dessert and headed upstairs. Both Jason and I followed her as she made her way into my bedrooms.
“She is right, you know,” he told me.
“I know,” I sighed. “I just don’t want her to feel like she is in the way” lason chuckled as he grabbed two cups and a spoon and headed for the couch. “Don’t sit on Cuddles, he likes to burrow into the blankets,” I warned him. Jason looked with suspicion at the pile of blankets at one end of the couch and then he decided to sit on the opposite end. I smiled, took a cup and a spoon and sat down next to the pide.
“I don’t think you need to worry about Hara getting the wrong idea. The two of you seem to be doing good. How was the first day?” he asked me. I sighed and told him between spoonfuls of smooth, delightful dessert. Jason and I had switched subjects and were discussing upgrades for some of our inventory in the company when I heard the door upstairs opening. We both looked up and saw Hana come walking. She was wearing one of my t–shirts and leggings. Her hair was still wet and she looked like a vision.

“I hope I’m not interrupting,” she said.
“Not at all, I was about to head home. Thank you for letting me come over, and thank you for making this amazing dessert, Jason said, indicating the cups in front of him on the table.

“You are always a joy to make things for,” she told him. We spent a montent longer just talking before Jason excused himself and left. Hana was putting the last things in the dishwasher and I took the opportunity to once again trap her in my arms.

“Now that lason has left, can we start on that fun time?” I asked. She giggled and wrapped her arms around m
“I would like that. I have missed you,”
,” she said and kissed me. The kiss turned into passion in seconds and my hands found her ass on their own. The thin material of her leggings let me feel all her curves. I was contemplating if I should lift her onto the counter and give her the first orgasm in the kitchen, or if I should pick her up and carry her to bed when the alert from the elevator sounded.
“Leave it.” | grunted as I started placing kisses along her neck and decided I didn’t have the patience to carry Hana to the bed.

“What if it’s Jason?”
“Then he will just have to wait until tomorrow,” I said. I felt her reach for the console, probably to check who it was. I was too occupied with my new mission to
“Hunter.” The tone in Hana’s voice stopped me in my tracks as if someone had thrown a bucket of ice water over me.
1 turned my head and looked at the monitor. I couldn’t believe it. It was Amber; the woman claiming Simon had got her pregnant.
