Chapter 11
That night, Matthew stood beside my bed for a long time. His bloodshot eyes were deep.
But Matthew still said that he didn’t know where Noah was. I couldn’t get the information from him, so I didn’t bother to talk to him. His phone rang. Then, he tucked the quilt for me and left.
I stayed in the Harrington Manor and was not allowed to go out. The therapist came to my room and treated me every day.
The therapist was a beautiful young girl. She never asked me about my past. Every day, she told me some interesting things.
Later, I was willing to believe her, took the initiative to talk to her, and asked her if she had a boyfriend.
She said yes and showed me the diamond ring on her finger, telling me happily that she was about to get married.
I congratulated and told her the story between me and Noah. She nodded at me and indicated understanding.
That evening, I sat by the bed and stared at the moon for a long time. Subconsciously. I wanted to check if Noah contacted me. After a while, I remembered that my mobile phone had already been confiscated.

I could only look at the moon. Suddenly, I opened the window and jumped down.
The smell of disinfectant in the hospital was unpleasant. I woke up with a headache and felt like all my bones were falling apart.
The quarrel outside the ward grew more intense and gradually reached my ears.
“No wonder Skylar has refused to get close to us since she returned. She must have thought we abandoned her!”
“Matthew, you are indeed a jerk! How did I get a son like you? How can I face Skylar’s deceased parents?”
“Father, Mother, I didn’t expect that either. I just want her to behave well.”
Then, I heard someone get slapped.
Immediately afterward, I heard Matthew’s muffled groans.
I thought Yannick hit him again until I heard Danielle scream, “Noah!”
Noah!
I wanted to get out of bed, but I fell to the ground. Oh, my legs were broken. My room in the Harrington Manor was on the second floor. And I wouldn’t die jumping from my room.
Hearing the noise inside, Noah barged in from outside. He

looked gaunt, with stubble on his chin, as if he hadn’t shaved in days.
“Noah.” I picked up the fruit beside the bed and threw it at him. Noah was hit, but he looked nervous and worried, hurriedly came over, and carried me back to the bed.
Danielle called the doctor.
After a general examination, the doctor said, “Miss, you can’t get out of bed for the next two weeks. You already have irreversible injuries to your knees, and if you do this kind of strenuous exercise, your legs will be crippled.”
I could tell the doctor was a little angry. And Noah hurriedly apologized patiently, promising I’d never do it again.
The doctor looked at these people around me, puzzled, and said to me, “If you need help or legal aid, come to me directly.”
