Mom and I found a place near my school. Our neighbor followed, too.
Mom decided to hand the esteemed divorce lawyer all the evidence she collected, as she did not want to deal with Janice and my father anymore.
While their divorce procedures ran, the man decided to host a wedding with Janice first and let the world know that he and my mother were divorced.
The media was invited, and everyone knew that Janice was his mistress.
At the same time, Mom had also regained control over the company, and all of YL’s employees moved to the new building. She even changed the company name to Sylvia Group.
My father was not informed of this. He was too busy basking in the glow of a new marriage.
Janice even messaged Mom and I: [From today onwards, I’m David Roffe’s wife! No one will call me his mistress! But if you two beg to be my maids, I don’t mind asking my husband to consider giving you two some money. After all, it can’t be easy for an ugly and unwanted woman to send her daughter to school.]
We ignored the message and blocked the number.
Our lawyer sent Janice a letter demanding that she return all the money David had spent on her, as that money belonged to Mom.
Mom accounted for everything, even a box of bandages David bought for Janice.
Two days after their wedding, I heard that David wanted to bring her to his company.
I had cameras installed, hooked on a live stream, and was ready to watch the pride fall from David’s face once he found out how empty his office had become.
After a few days of waiting, I finally heard from the man.
I watched as Janice and David walked through the doors, only to be met with emptiness. There was no
no computer, not even a piece of scrap paper.
David was dazed.
Janice was confused. “David? Are your employees on holiday? Did someone break in?”
The comments were filled with laughter.
David gulped and made a call, but no one answered.
He made ten more calls, but they were all to no avail.
He roared. “Where the f*ck are these people?!”
Reporters who were hiding nearby swarmed him.
“Mr. Roffe, did you move offices? What happened here?”
“Mr. Roffe, I heard that your wife… I mean, your ex–wife has taken all your employees to her new company, and the company’s shares have nothing to do with you anymore! Is that true?”
“When do you plan to declare bankruptcy? Why not take this opportunity today, seeing as so many reporters are here today!”

One of them even shoved their mic in Janice’s face. “Hi, are you the young twenty–year–old mistress? I heard you are pregnant! Could you tell us your thoughts about your husband’s bankruptcy? Will you get a divorce and give birth to your son?”
David and Janice paled and flushed with mortification and embarrassment.
Finally, David shouted, “Get lost! All of out! Move away!”
Janice was about to drag him away when suddenly, David stopped moving. “Wait.”
He faced the camera, “I am the CEO of YL Group. Please do not believe the rumors running around. My ex–wife, Yvonne, was the one who cheated on me first.
“She was the one who tampered with the business I worked hard to build. What use is power and status on a woman? As executives and directors, you should know better than to follow a woman with no future. Come back, and I can consider raising your pay.
“If you want to stay there with that sheltered woman, fine! But don’t come crying when you file for bankruptcy. I won’t take you back in.”
Mom knew he would turn the story against her, so she responded by publicizing a 130–page PowerPoint slide titled ‘YL CEO Cheating Evidence‘.
Another short novel, titled ‘Becoming the CEO of YL by Taking Advantage of My Wife‘ was also published on many social media platforms.
Now everyone knew who David and Janice were.
