Chapter 2
Frank stood up angrily, pointed at Kayla’s back, and started cursing. “You are getting old, but you are still so jealous. If I had known this, I shouldn’t have married you.”
Seeing this, Sean and I were stunned. I didn’t know why Frank suddenly became furious this time. In my impression, he was a mild–tempered man.
Looking at Kayla’s sad and disappointed back, I seemed to see my future.
I suddenly further strengthened my determination to divorce.
I stroked my belly and didn’t say anything.
This fight ended in silence.
I turned around and went back to the room.
Sean and Frank saw the attitude of me and Kayla, and they slammed the door and left.
Before leaving, Sean looked at me with disdain and said, “Whatever you think. Brenda, don’t regret it.”
I was not surprised to hear this.
Whenever we quarreled, I was the one who took the initiative to

apologize and tried my best to beg Sean to forgive me.
But I would never do that in the future.
Looking at the wedding photos on the wall, I forced a bitter smile.
In fact, I had a happy life with Sean before.
However, Angela destroyed it after she had returned from abroad.

Kayla had told me that Angela was the adopted daughter of the Nelson family and was 15 years younger than Frank.
Angela’s parents and Frank’s father were good friends.
But Angela’s parents had died in a natural disaster. At the time, Angela was only 3 years old.
Sean had been with Angela a lot since she came back from
abroad.
I hadn’t noticed anything unusual at the very beginning.
I only thought Angela’s relationship with Frank and Sean was a little bit unlike that of among family members.
Later, Angela’s behaviors became more and more excessive. She even called Sean late at night, saying that she was afraid of thunder and wanted him to accompany her.

Even Frank couldn’t remain calm after hearing this.

Therefore, the two of them often went to a single woman’s house on rainy nights.
What was more, Angela always mentioned to me, intentionally or unintentionally, how unique she was to Sean.
She even took away Sean and Frank’s lucky charms that Kayla had gotten with great effort.
Sean and I had many quarrels because of Angela.
“Angela is just my aunt. My grandpa has passed away, and she only has two of us. How can you be so vicious? Don’t defile our family affection with your dirty thoughts,” Sean said coldly and looked at me with disdain.
Kayla came in and handed me a tissue.
Only then did I realize that my face was wet with tears.
I calmed myself down and forced a smile. “I’m fine, Kayla.”
“Have you thought about it? Are you sure you don’t want to tell Sean about your pregnancy?” Kayla looked at me with concerfi, feeling distressed for me.
“I’ve made up my mind. I want to give birth to this child and divorce Sean. With my savings and ability, I can raise the child alone.” I stroked my belly.

I was weeping silently. Upon hearing this, I could no longer control my emotions and cried.
I didn’t know whether I was crying for myself, for my failed marriage, or my stupidity. How stupid I was. I actually wanted a man to give me happiness.
