Chapter 8
Jordan’s eyes were red and his voice was trembling. “She said that she hated me.”
He then looked at Zack and Frank and said in a sarcastic voice, “Have a guess at whether she hates you or not.
“Host, this is a very nice move! You can use this on your next target!” the system said excitedly as he looked at the hopeless looks on the faces of the three men.
I pouted my lips. “How much more of this do I have to take?”
Neither one of them was able to take my body away.
It was Jordan’s parents who came from another city after hearing what happened to take my body away.
Jordan still wanted to struggle but was slapped in the face by his mother. “You start making a scene after she died? You were the one who forced her to divorce you when she was alive. When she got remarried, you still acted like a coward and only watched from afar. You’ve brought this upon yourself!”
Jordan covered his face in shame and couldn’t stop himself from sobbing. “I don’t know how things turned out this way. I’ve had feelings for her ever since we were little.”
Frank and Zack leaned against the wall and slowly slid down to sit on the ground. They curled themselves up and kept on saying, “I’m sorry.”
Suddenly, their phones began ringing one by one.
I cocked my brows. It seemed that Wendy had woken up from the anesthesia.
Neither of them answered their phones. In the end, the hospital called Jordan’s mother.
Jordan’s mother sneered and hung up. She then said, “Your sweetheart is causing a scene at the hospital!”
I saw the eyes of the three men turn cold simultaneously.
At the hospital, Wendy looked at her phone nervously and began biting her nails. No one was calling her back. Suddenly, the door to her ward was pushed open.
Wendy looked at the person at the door in surprise. But when she saw the look on the person’s face, she subconsciously wanted to back away.
I drifted to the window and watched the show.
Wendy forced a smile on her face. “Zack, where’s Liam? Didn’t he say that he’ll be the first person I see?”
Zack walked over quietly and grabbed Wendy’s collar ruthlessly. He asked through gritted teeth, “What the hell did you do to me? How could I have left Rio for you?”
Wendy’s face paled completely. She then said in a quiet voice, “What are you talking about, Zack? Didn’t you say you like me?”
Zack snorted and said in a disdainful voice, “A person like you only deserve to be played with by men. Do you think you’re worthy of being loved?”

Tears streamed down Wendy’s face, but this time no one pitied her.
Frank and Jordan both ignored Wendy’s plea for help. They even wanted to add fuel to the fire.
“You’re nothing compared to Rio. How the hell did we fall in love with you? Also, what did Rio mean by being
a tasker?”
I asked the system, “Does it matter if they know about the taskers?”
“It doesn’t really matter. This is a small world. If the mission fails, everything will be reloaded.”
Wendy looked at the three men in front of her, whose eyes were all filled with disgust. She then asked, “What happened to Rio?”
The room became silent. No one answered her question.
Wendy’s eyes were immediately filled with excitement. “Rio’s dead, right?”
The faces of the three men darkened even more after hearing those words. This confirmed Wendy’s guess. “Hahaha! Looks like Rio’s really dead!”
Mooked at Wendy, who was going crazy, with a mixture of feelings. “I really didn’t know she hated me this
much.”
The system coughed. “Wendy’s mother abandoned her and her father after completing her mission, so after she found out you were a tasker, she transferred all the hatred to you.”
I was rendered speechless and rolled my eyes. “What happened to her wasn’t my fault. You need to make up for it.”
This time, the system was rendered speechless.
Wendy was still acting crazily. She walked around the room excitedly barefooted.
“You fools. All I had to do was to act pitifully and you all fell for me. Otherwise, how would I have had the chance to hurt Rio? Thank you. If it weren’t for you, I wouldn’t have achieved my goal. You all worked with me to kill Rio.”
Just as Wendy was laughing excitedly, Zack walked rushed over to strangle Wendy.
Wendy smiled provocatively. “Kill me then. My mission’s complete anyway.”
Suddenly, her gaze was locked on me.
I smiled and waved at her. “Hey, I’m still alive!”
Wendy’s face turned red and her eyes widened in shock This can’t be! You’ve failed your mission and should be terminated!”
The others in the room followed her gaze, which was looking at me, but they saw nothing.
All they could do was pin Wendy down and ask her continuously if I was dead.
Wendy looked at me with eyes full of hate, but it was time for me to leave.

A white light flashed. It was the system taking me to leave this world.
At the very end, I saw Wendy pouncing towards me like mad and shouting, “This can’t be!”
After returning to the main world, I took a long break before I accepted a new mission.”
When I met the system again, the system had some gossip for me. “Host, are you not curious of what happened in that small world?”
I showed no interest and continued to choose my identity for the new mission.
The system spun itself around in the air and said, “After the world was reloaded, everything started afresh. Frank didn’t receive any help and became a gangster. He then died in a street fight. Jordan and Zack lost their talents and became ordinary people. They would frequently have nightmares, which prevented them from living normal lives. As for Wendy, when the small world reloaded, she was completely erased. Don’t you think it’s strange? Hey, host, I’m not finished yet. Where are you going?”
I held the mission card and walked towards the portal.
Who would care about inconvenient things during their previous lives?
I was headed to rescue puppies and kittens of the next world.
